She was married
to John T. "Tom" Schnably, who survives, along with four sons, Donald D., married
to the former Margaret Fogel, Calabash, N.C., James M., married
to the former Norma Shaffer, LaVale, Md., Joseph D., married
to the former Nanette Leach, and Steve, married
to the former Susan Miller, both of Bedford; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Logue, Bedford.
Mrs. Schnably was a member of Bedford Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a 50-year member of Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating.
Burial will be in Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, and one-half hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.
Contributions may be made to Pennknoll Village, R.D. #1, Everett, or to Trinity Lutheran Church, Public Square, Bedford.
BARRY L. SCHROCK
Mr. Schrock was a self-employed carpenter and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury. He served for six years in the Pennsylvania National Guard, was a member of Salisbury American Legion and an associate member of Salisbury VFW.
In addition to his parents he is survived by five aunts, Jane Barnhart, Salisbury, Annabelle Christner, Finzel, Md., Janet Scott, Friedens, Pauline May, Greenville, and Patty Glessner, Bowie, Md.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John's United Church of Christ.
EDNA C. SCHROYER (FREY)
She was born March 24, 1919, in Bittinger, Md., a daughter of the late Jacob and Lydia Butler Frey Stark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Orval C. Schroyer; a sister, Mae Thomas; a brother, Playford Stark; and a half-sister, Mary Jane Brant.
Surviving are her second husband, James C. Schroyer; three sons, Paul R. Schroyer and wife, Betty, Yuma, Ariz., Charles W. Schroyer and wife, Carol, Clarksville, Md., and Thomas E. Schroyer and wife, Patricia, Grantsville, Md.; a brother, Delbert Frey, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; a half-sister, Ida Mae Thomas, Markleysburg; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home, 254 Main St., Markleysburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Additional visitation will be held in the Gospel Center Church in Markleysburg, Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. Martin Stewart and the Rev. Joe Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, Md.
JAMES C. SCHROYER
Mr. Schroyer was a World War II Veteran. He retired from Lucas Machine Shop, Cleveland, Ohio.
Surviving are a son, James Schroyer and wife Linda, Winchester, Va.; and brothers and sisters, Ruth Kahl, Friendsville, Md., William R. Schroyer, Greenville, Pa., Flora Humbert, Markleysburg, Pa., John Schroyer, Union City, Pa., Frances Fike, Andover, Ohio, Lavonne Godec, Dorset, Ohio; three stepsons, Paul Schroyer and wife Betty, Yuma, Ariz., Charles Schyroyer and wife Carol, Clarksville, Md., and Thomas Schroyer and wife Patricia, Grantsville; two grandchildren, Eric and Angie Schroyer; eight step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Rodney S. Turner Funeral Home, 254 Main St., Markleysburg, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation on Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, in Markleysburg Church of the Brethren from noon to 1 p.m. the hour of service. The Rev. Joe Brown and the Rev. Ron Thomas will officiate.
Interment will follow in Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, Md.
JOHNNY E. SHROYER
Mr. Shroyer is survived by his wife of more that 40 years, Ruby Viola (Emerick) Shroyer; one son, Bernard L. and wife Brenda, Comps; four daughters, Tereca L. Shaffer and husband George, Vickie K. Romesburg and husband Michael, Joann M. Sheirer and husband Douglas, and Tracey Logsdon and husband Jeffrey, all of Comps; two sisters, Shirley Chaney, Hyndman, and Betty Scritchfield, Stringtown; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Shroyer served as a corporal in Company B of the 578th Engineering Battalion of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Celanese Corp., Cumberland, for 17 years, after which he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 3-S Coal, Stoystown, until his retirement.
Mr. Shroyer attended Comps Church, and was a member of the Kennells Mill Sportsman's Club.
Memorial services will be conducted at Comps Church on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Edward Shockey officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Comps Church Cemetery. Military honors will be conferred by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
The Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, is in charge of arrangements.
GEORGE E. SCHURG
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ivan Wilt and George Housel.
In addition to his parents he is also survived by his children, Richard E., Melissa S. married
to Shawn Fochtman, and Robert R., all of Berlin; grandchildren, Jordan and Megan Fochtman. He was the brother of Connie, married
to Ken Hutzell, and Julie, married
to Ed Walker, both of Meyersdale; Ken Wilt, married
to the former Brenda Dever, and Mike Wilt, married
to the former Tonya Haer, both of Frostburg. He was the stepbrother of Tina and Donald Schurg, both of Meyersdale, William E. Schurg and wife, Carol, and Kim, married
to Ralph Drew, both of Frostburg. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Edna Wilt, Grantsville, and Emma Housel, Meyersdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a construction worker, and Staff Sergeant with the Pennsylvania National Guard Company C. He was a member of Meyersdale American Legion Post #112.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, and 11:30 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Somerset National Guard Armory, with the Rev. Russell B. Kessler officiating.
Interment will be in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Pennsylvania National Guard Armory, Company C, Stoystown Road, Friedens, PA 15541, to be used to assist his children.
