She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Rose, Morgantown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Greg Thompson and Michelle Thompson; six sisters, Fern Sturtz, Cresaptown, Md., Janet Hochard, Boynton, Marie Bucy, Barrelville, Md., Jean Miller, Berlin, Bernice Brafford and Freda Wagoner, both of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; and three brothers, Paul Murray, Kennells Mills, Carl Murray and Roy Murray, both of Meyersdale. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Karen Thompson, Meyersdale.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor William Davis officiating.
Interment will be in Hostetler Church Cemetery, Meyersdale.
FRANCES D. TRITT
She was a member of Dover Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher in the adult department.
Born in Cumberland, Md., Dec. 11, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Fitzhugh L. and Nellie M. Manspeaker Decker.
She leaves her husband, Harry A. Tritt, and nieces and nephews.
Viewing was April 9 at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover.
The service was at 2 p.m. April 10 at the funeral home with her pastors, the Rev. Rodney Richesson and the Rev. Gary Firster, and her nephew the Rev. David E. Tritt, a Baptist pastor in Bel Air, Md., officiating.
Burial will be in the Suburban Memorial Gardens, York.
DELBERT R. VALENTINE
Born on Dec. 12, 1920, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Henry Franklin Valentine and Irene Margaret (Rephann) Valentine. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, the former Mary Jane Otto, on Sept. 20, 1978; son, Delbert R. Valentine, II; granddaughter, Dalena Valentine.
Mr. Valentine was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, 1939 Graduate of Fort Hill High School, Cumberland. He was employed for G.A. Largent and Associates retiring in 1983.
Surviving are his wife, Rena L. (Knupp) Walters-Valentine; children, Michael O. Valentine married
to the former, Janet Robb, of Meyersdale, William H. Valentine and fiancé, Susan Lasure, of Meyersdale, Miss. Tammy Kay Valentine, of Donegal; four grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph (Krista) Krause, Jennifer, Andrew, and Chelsea Valentine; step-children, Mrs. Anthony (Diana) Jano, of Somerset, Mrs. Lynn (Rita) Dietz, of Somerset, Mrs. Joseph (Donna Lee) Jano, of Somerset, Gary Walters married
to the former, Lynette Miller, of Somerset; 18 step-grandchildren; 35 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Marion Platter, of Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset, on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Charles F. Olson, officiating.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Swanton.
Memorials may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church, 320 Felgar Road, Somerset, PA 15501.
MAE E. WASS
She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Harold Griffith, Friendsville, Md., Homer Griffith, Ohio, Ralph Wright, Glenn Wass and James Wass, all of Addison, and Helen Stairs, Baltimore; a number of great-nieces and -nephews; and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Miss Wass retired after 42 years as an elementary school teacher for the Garrett County Board of Education. She was a member of the Garrett County Teachers Association and the Federal Teachers Association.; member St. John's Lutheran Church, Addison; former member and president of WELCA and the church council; and former member of Camp Sequanota Board of Directors.
Friends will be received at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, on Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Addison, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Triebe officiating. There will be no viewing at the church.
Interment will be in the Addison Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church.
EDITH M. WEIMER
Mrs. Weimer is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, in 1988; son, Charles "Sonny" Weimer; and sisters, Emeline Bartolo, and Maggie Colegrove. She is survived by sons, Melvin, and his wife Dolores, of Somerset, and Jack, and his wife Shirley, of Garrett; daughters Betty Elaine, and her husband Robert Harvey Kirk of Cumberland; Lois Kline of York, Pa.; Barbara Weimer, of Rockwood, and Mrs. Doris Baer and her husband Wayne, of Salisbury; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
PAUL H. WEIMER
An electrician by trade, he was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. A Catholic by faith, he was active in the Catholic church in Virginia Beach.
He is survived by 10 daughters; three sons; several grandchildren; and one sister, Rhea Lepley, Cumberland, Md.
Visitation, Mass of Christian Burial, and interment were held in Virginia Beach.
KAREN ``SUSIE'' WHITACRE
Mrs. Whitacre was a 1964 graduate of Fort Ashby High School.
She was previously employed at Automated Packaging Systems.
Mrs. Whitacre was a member of the Heart Of Maryland Classic Chevy Club. She was also a member of God's Family.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Galen Whitacre; two sons, Eric and Jeremy Reckley, Fort Ashby; two step-children, Wayne Whitacre, Harrisburg, Pa., and Penny Conner, Hanover, Pa.; one grandchild, Sierra; two step-grandchildren, Erica and Karrie; one sister, Sharon Borror, Cumberland; six brothers, Sonny Parsons, Cleveland, Ohio, Kenny Parsons, Pittsburgh, Pa., Jim Parsons and Larry Parsons, Patterson Creek, W.Va., Steve Parsons, Fort Ashby, Billy Parsons, Parsons, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Route 28, Fort Ashby, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Ernie Waring officiating.
Interment will be in Brethel Cemetery, Parsons.
The family requests that those wishing to remember Susie may do so with a memorial contribution to the VNA Hospice Program at Hanover/Spring Grove, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.
