WAYNESBORO, Pa. - I. Born in Fairview, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Emma Rhodes Baker Creager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. "Buff" Wetzel Jr., in 1996. They were married
June 14, 1952.
She was a graduate of Quincy High School.
She was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot in the Ammunition Field Office in Chambersburg, Pa. She and her husband owned Wetzel's Tavern, also known as Buff and Jo's Tavern, on East Fifth Street in Waynesboro, from 1957 to 1987.
She was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758 Ladies Auxiliary; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1191 Ladies Auxiliary; and Women of the Moose.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia C. Stover of Chambersburg and E. LaRue Walter of Waynesboro; a brother, Charles W. Creager of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gail Karle; and two brothers, B. Ray Creager and C. Donald Creager.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery near Rouzerville, Pa.
In was her request there be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to A.T.H. & L. Fire Co., 29 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268; or American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Violet D. Knighton
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Violet Dudley Kimberlin Knighton, 92, a resident of Calidonia Manor and formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., Covington, Va. and Newport News, Va., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Caledonia Manor.
Born Feb. 2, 1908, in Anderson, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Honaker Dudley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kimberlin, in 1931.
She was a Baptist.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Maxine Blake of Hancock; two grandchildren, Linda Blake Harris of Williamsburg, Va. and Harry Blake Sr. of Hancock; seven great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
Dennis E. Thomas
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dennis Eugene Thomas, 54, of 8885 Kuhn Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at his home.
Born Nov. 9, 1945, in Scotland, Pa., he was the son of Madeline May Gelsinger Bible, of Greaton House in Wayne Heights, Pa., and the late Wilbur R. Thomas.
He attended Greencastle schools.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Timothy Thomas; a sister, Catherine Louise Gehrett of Shippensburg, Pa.; four brothers, John Gillan Davis of Kauffman Station, Pa., LeRoy Fred Thomas of Fayetteville, Pa., Dennis Eugene Thomas of Florida and David R. Thomas; nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.
Lois V. Scharf
DUNEDIN, Fla. - Lois V. Born Sept. 21, 1914, in Cassville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jesse Earl Chilcote, and stepdaughter of the late Margaret Chilcote.
She was a 1933 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She worked as a medical research consultant for Harper-Collins.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Clearwater.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Alice Grims; and two stepgrandchildren, Cherie Burns and Mark Grims.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel Lefever and Dorothy Bard; and one brother, Raymond Chilcote.
Arrangements were by Moss-Feaster Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Belcher Road Chapel, Clearwater, Fla.
Blanche L. Hamil

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Leon Hamil, in 1993.
She was a retired seamstress.
She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville.
She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary of McConnellsburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Buterbaugh of McConnellsburg; two sons, Don Strait of McConnellsburg and Larry Hamil of Needmore, Pa.; two sisters, Olive Dishong of Johnstown, Pa. and Lena Shadle of McConnellsburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Barnett; and two brothers, Lorenza Strait and LeRoy Strait.
Services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Pastors Christian Elliott, Roger Truax and Sam Stoey will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alberta M. Galbraith
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Alberta M. May 5, 1923.
She attended Waynesboro schools.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.
She was a member of YMCA Auxiliary of Waynesboro; Women's Republican Council; National AARP; and the former AARP Chapter 739 of Waynesboro.
She is survived by three sons, John Robert Galbraith of Colorado Springs, Colo., Edgar Dean Galbraith of Jacksonville, N.C. and Charles E. Galbraith of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Shults.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
