Born Oct. 8, 1919, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Charlotte Bollinger Eck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet E. Corwell, in 1977.
She was a 1937 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
She worked as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda S. Barnhart of Chambersburg; two sons, Garnet E. Corwell Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and John E. Corwell of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Teresa Hartman of Chambersburg; two brothers, Paul Eck of Waynesboro, Pa., and Joseph Eck of Rouzerville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith A. Wright; sisters and brothers; and a grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel F. Lawler will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Orville R. Wenger
SCOTLAND, Pa. - Orville R. Wenger, 78, of 3956 Scotland Main St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, May 26, 2000, at his home.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Edenville, Pa., he was the son of the late Morris and Elsie Rife Wenger.
He was an auto mechanic at Wadel's Amoco Station in Scotland for 40 years. He was then employed for a number of years as a plumber with C.V. Wenger Inc. in Chambersburg, Pa., and later was employed as a builder by James Richardson in Scotland.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in India, Burma and Thailand.
He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.
He was a member of Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion of St. Thomas, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Helen G. Furry Wenger, whom he married
June 28, 1947; a son, Albert J. Wenger of Mainsville, Pa.; two sisters, Luella Crist and Dorothy Finafrock, both of Chambersburg; a brother, Chester V. Wenger of Chambersburg; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road in Chambersburg. The Revs. Daryl M. Elliott and Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg, and Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Mount Pleasant Building Fund, 2509 Black Gap Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Nancy H. Dixon, 78, of 131 S. Born Feb. 8, 1922, in Fayetteville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jane Brown Spoonhour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmore F. Dixon Sr., in 1985. They were married
July 8, 1941.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Greencastle.
She was a member of Frank C. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373 Ladies Auxiliary of Greencastle.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Curtis of Shirmansdale, Pa., and Michele D. Dixon of Greencastle; a son, Charles E. Dixon Sr. of Greencastle; a sister, Martha Tasker of Fayetteville; a brother, Alfred E. Spoonhour of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Dixon; a son, Gilmore F. Dixon Jr.; a sister, Katherine Keys; and a brother, Charles Spoonhour.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. in Greencastle. The Rev. Gregory Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
I. Louise Dale

Born April 9, 1918, in Church Hill, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and B. Eva Metcalfe Hoover.
She was a 1936 graduate of the former Lemasters High School, Lemasters, Pa.
She assisted her husband in the operation of the Mercer Clothing Company of Mercersburg, Pa.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mercersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip A. "Pete" Dale; a daughter, Barbara Frederick of Denver; a son, Anthony A. Dale of Breezewood and a sister, Cleone E. McAfee of Mercersburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister and an infant brother.
Final disposition will be private.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg.
Gladys I. George
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Gladys I. Mentzer George, 81, a resident of Greaton House, and formerly of Quincy, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at the retirement home.
Born June 20, 1918, in the Gap area in Quincy Township near Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. and Ethel M. Monn Mentzer.
Her husband, Melvin G. George, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Feb. 20, 1989. They were married
in March 1942.
She attended the Shoestring Hill Schools.
In her early life she was employed by Waynesboro Laundry. She was a homemaker most of her life.
She attended Grace Baptist Church, Waynesboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Gladhill of Waynesboro; a son, Harlan R. George of Quincy; a sister, Betty Helman of Waynesboro; two brothers, Daniel H. Mentzer of South Mountain, Pa., and Gene Mentzer of Quincy; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Mentzer, Rosalie Brown and Edna Mohn.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. John F. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
