Born Jan. 14, 1902, in Middleburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Stanley W. and Eleanor Barnhart Hartle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Metcalf, in 1978.
She was a graduate of Maugansville High School.
She operated a tailor shop out of her home. She previously worked as a fitter at Leiter Brothers Clothing Store in Hagerstown.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg, Pa.
She is survived by a sister, Ravenel Barnhart of Greencastle, Pa.; a brother, Richard L. Hartle of State Line, Pa.; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg. The Rev. Michael K. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Church, 34 W. Seminary St., Mercersburg, PA 17236.
Charles W. Hatfield
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charles W. Hatfield, 87, of 170-C Menno Village, and formerly of 325 Walnut St., Shippensburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Menno Haven.
Born Aug. 31, 1912, in Guilford Township, Pa., he was the son of the late William D. and Carrie McCune Hatfield.
He was a 1931 graduate of Shippensburg High School.
He retired in 1972 from the Shippensburg Post Office, where he had been a rural mail carrier.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Men's Bible Class and served as deacon and elder.
He was a member of National Rural Letter Carriers Association; and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223.
He is survived by his wife, E. Pauline Oyer Hatfield; a son, David W. Hatfield of Northeast, Pa.; a daughter, Pat H. Kopczynski of Albany, Ore.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in West Pennsboro Township, Pa. The Rev. Bonnie B. Hoffman will officiate.
Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Cathy M. Barnhart
HUSTONTOWN, Pa. - Cathy M. Barnhart, 43, of Hustontown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
Born Oct. 11, 1956, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Alice Reihart of Greencastle, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Barnhart, in 1998. They were married
Feb. 23, 1974.
She was employed by JLG Industries in McConnellsburg.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Stouffer and Cathy Jo Barnhart, both of Chambersburg, Pa. and Junell Barnhart of Waynesboro, Pa.; sisters and brothers, Robert Reihart of Belleville, Pa., Betty Lane, Bill Reihart and Mary Miller, all of Chambersburg, Dean Reihart of St. Thomas, Pa., and Richard Reihart and Patty Heinbaugh, both of Greencastle; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Reihart.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at M. R. Brown Funeral Home in Hustontown, Pa. Pastor Daryl Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in Harrisonville.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
L. Thelma Kerlin
ORBISONIA, Pa. - L. Thelma Kerlin, 95, a resident of Woodland Nursing Home, and formerly of Hann's Apartments, McConnellsburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at the Home.
Born Dec. 4, 1904, in Six Mile Run, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Jane McIntyre Gates.

She was a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Majorie Kerlin; a son, Otis P. Kerlin Jr.; sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Florence I. Diffenderfer

She was a member of AARP 2840 and a life member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered with Chambersburg Toy Mission for many years.
She is survived by a sister, Elsie Overcash of Chambersburg, a brother, John Schaeffer of Shippensburg, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald L. Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
