NEWBURG, Pa. - Nelson O. Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1920, in Cashtown, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul D. and Ethel Sites Clever.
He farmed in the Franklin County, Pa. area. He worked as an iron worker for Davis Steel Co. of York, Pa., retiring in 1979.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He attended Blue Mountain Assembly of God Church of Newburg.
He was a member of Detrich-Brechbill American Legion of St. Thomas, Pa.; and Local Union 404 Iron Workers of Harrisburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Olive Crouse Clever, whom he married
Nov. 27, 1943; a son, Michael L. High of Orrstown, Pa.; two sisters, Flo Mae Adkins of Chambersburg and Faye Toms of Marlowe, W.Va.; three brothers, Paul D. Clever Jr. of Chambersburg, Robert Clever of Deland, Fla. and Ned Clever of Pleasant Hall, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; and a brother.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg, Pa. The Rev. Clarence W. Dehart Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
George Banavich
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - George Banavich, 84, of 250 Leedy Way West, and formerly of Elizabeth, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 21, 1915, in Elizabeth Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Stanley and Anna Banavich.
He was a graduate of Elizabeth High School.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Elizabeth.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth.
He is survived by his wife, Edith McLay Banavich; two sisters, Virginia McKnown and Madaline Campayno, both of Pennsylvania; and a brother, William Banavich of Elizabeth Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home in Elizabeth.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Paul E. Logsdon
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Paul E. Logsdon, 31, of 12735 Buchanan Trail East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, as the result of a traffic accident on Leitersburg Road near Greencastle, Pa.
Born June 13, 1968, in Baltimore, he was the son of Ruth A. Dyer Stump of Hagerstown, and the late James A. Logsdon.
He attended Boonsboro schools.
He was formerly employed by P.S.I. in Williamsport. He was employed by Ryan Homes in Thurmont, Md., as a saw man for the past three years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sherry L. Shindledecker Logsdon, whom he married
April 25, 1997; one daughter, Tyler L. Logsdon, at home; four sisters, Michelle Logsdon of West Virginia, Katherine Logsdon of Hagerstown, Mary Kolb of Baltimore, Rose Greco of Pennsylvania; three brothers, James Logsdon of West Virginia, Lester Beach and Rick Stump, both of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., in Waynesboro.
There will be no viewing; however the family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Sherry L. Logsdon, 12735 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Cory L. Johnson
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Cory Lee Johnson, 17, of 60 N. Born Feb. 9, 1983, in Oklahoma City, he was the son of Ben Ray and Lana Rose Sallin Johnson of Greencastle.
He attended Greencastle-Antrim High School and Manito School near Kauffman Station.
He was employed by Nick's Airport Inn in Hagerstown, as a busman; and at Niner Awning Co., Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Candessa R. Davis of Waynesboro, Pa.; a brother, James A. Wiles of Greencastle; maternal grandmother, Dorothy E. Sallin-Hamby of Mercersburg, Pa.; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rachelle H. Johnson; and a brother, Christopher C.D. He was a 1988 graduate of Guthrie High School. He attended Vocational Technical School, studying to be a machinist.
He was employed by Larstan Industries Inc. in Hagerstown. Later, he worked as a salesperson at Buchanan Trail Auto Park in Waynesboro. For the past two years, he was employed as a carpenter at MVR Ryan Homes in Thurmont, Md.
He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Oklahoma City; and attended Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Ben Ray Johnson of Greencastle; his stepmother, Rose Reed Wiles of Clear Spring; a son, Christopher C.D. Wiles Jr. of Bennington, Vt.; his fiance, Tina L. Shockey of Waynesboro; three sisters, Candessa R. Davis of Waynesboro, Julia I. Woodring and Victoria M. Wiles, both of Clear Spring; a brother, James A. Wiles of Greencastle; maternal grandmother, Dorothy E. Sallin-Hamby of Mercersburg, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Rachelle H. Johnson; and a brother, Cory L. He was employed in maintenance-type jobs.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Terry L. Parson of Dry Run.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run. The Rev. Marlin A. Nell and Darwin Goshorn will officiate. Burial will be in United Methodist Church Cemetery in Doylesburg, Pa.
Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m.
