CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth M. Schjodt, 92, of Shook Home and formerly of 1174 Westgate Drive and 561 E. Born Dec. 12, 1907, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Bertha Gertrude Culp Mower.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yens J. Schjodt Sr., in 1975.
She attended Chambersburg Business School.
She worked as a clerk at the Department of Health in Chambersburg for 20 years, retiring in January 1972. She had been employed by the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 13 years.
A veteran of World War II, she served in the U.S. Army at Kennedy General Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
She was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion of Chambersburg and Ladies Auxiliary Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW of Chambersburg and was a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose 842 of Chambersburg.
She is survived by two sons, George M. Schjodt of Chambersburg and Yens J. Schjodt Jr. of Spokane, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Evelyn F. Jones of Bradenton, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, twin sisters Naomi and Daisy; and a granddaughter.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Wilma L. Johnson
WELLS TANNERY, Pa. - Wilma Louise Johnson, 72, of 7849 N. Valley Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at her home.
Born March 29, 1928, in Wells Tannery, she was the daughter of the late Russell E. and Hazel Mae Shaw Swope.
She was a retired postmaster of Wells Tannery.
She was a member of Wells Valley Presbyterian Church in Wells Tannery.
She was a member of Eastern Star in Saxton, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, Harry K. "Fiddle" Johnson, whom she married
July 28, 1945; a daughter, Nancy Horne of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Robert Johnson of Wells Tannery; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister; a brother; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wells Valley Presbyterian Cemetery. Pastor Neil Daetz will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Carl H. Stevens
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Carl H. Stevens, 67, of 4223 Warm Spring Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1932, in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Homer C. and Beulah M. Barnett Stevens.
He was a 1950 graduate of Hustontown High School.
He worked in management for Grove Manufacturing until his retirement in 1998.
He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Williamson, Pa.; and attended Macedonia United Brethren Church in Greencastle.
He was a member of Mount Pisgah Lodge in Greencastle; Harrisburg Consistory; and Mount Parnell Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn N. Foster Stevens, whom he married
Sept. 24, 1954; a daughter, Carla S. Horn of Chambersburg; two sons, Michael V. Stevens of Greencastle and Murray B. Stevens of Mercersburg, Pa.; a sister, Esther J. Rouzer of Chambersburg; five granddaughters; and a grandson.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave. in Chambersburg. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas, Pa.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Enos M. Byers
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Enos M. Byers, 75, of 832 N. Born July 19, 1924, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Enos E. and Mable Meyers Byers.
He was a farmer in the Scotland, Pa. area, retiring in 1969. He worked as a truck driver for Yellow Freight Co. for more than 20 years, retiring in the early 1990's.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Phillippines.
He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, and Burton Men's Bible Class.
He was a volunteer bus driver for Released Time Bible Program and other local children's organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Washinger Byers, whom he married
Dec. 14, 1946; three daughters, Donna J. Stoey of Fayetteville, Pa., Ann E. Browder of Chambersburg and Carolyn B. Ruch of Hatfield, Pa.; three sons, Robert A. Byers and James S. Byers, both of Chambersburg, and Dennis L. Byers of Shippensburg, Pa.; three sisters, Ethel Dice and Rhoda Keller, both of Chambersburg, and Mable Kessinger of Fayetteville; four brothers, Paul Byers, Abram Byers and Preston Byers, all of Chambersburg, and Sam Byers of Shippensburg; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at King Street United Brethren Church, 172 E. King St., Chambersburg. The Revs. Patrick B. Jones and Lester F. Stine will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Elizabeth F. Born Feb. 2, 1910, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ira G. Sr. and Clara Belle Hess Haugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Miller Coble Sr., in 1996.
She had worked for O.W. Kaufman, D.D.S.; and Waynesboro Hospital.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a volunteer for Child Evangelism. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, and was active in the women's organizations.
She is survived by five stepdaughters, Miriam Hartzell of Baltimore, and Jane Rice, Annie Tanner, Nancy Barnhart and Lorraine Yeager, all of Chambersburg; a stepson, George M. Coble Jr. of Spring Run, Pa.; three sisters, Marguerite Keckler, Lucille Cunningham and Leona Martz; two brothers, Francis E. Haugh and Donald C. Haugh, both of Waynesboro; 15 step grandchildren; 20 step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; four brothers; and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 Miller Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. Warren C. Heintzleman will officiate. Burial will be in Coble's Cemetery in St. Thomas, Pa.
Visitation will be Friday at noon at the church.
