Born May 10, 1915, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late James and Cora Ritz Smith.
Her husband, Isaac "Ike" Norris, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1988.
She was a retired farmer and homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hancock.
She is survived by a son, William I. Norris of Camp Hill, Pa.; five granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ritz Smith, Charles Smith, John Smith and Francis Smith; and one half-sister, Virginia Dyer.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3738 Resley Road, Hancock. The Rev. Timothy P. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
Friends will be received Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Raymond E. Beachley
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Raymond E. Beachley, 101, of 336 Falling Spring Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Born Aug. 26, 1898, in Manassas, Va., he was the son of the late Elmer E. and Laura Mai Kabel Beachley.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Agnes Morgan Beachley, in 1980.
He was a graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, Md. He studied engineering at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
He was president and general manager of Craft Press Inc. in Chambersburg, which he founded in 1929. He retired at age 76. Earlier, he taught science at Middletown High School from 1918 to 1919, and then worked as an agent for the former Hagerstown and Frederick Railroad in Chewsville.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, Pa., where he served as board chairman, and choir director for more than 60 years.
He began teaching Sunday School at United Brethren Church in Myersville at age 17. He was recognized for 75 years as a Sunday School teacher in September 1991.
He was ordained as a minister by the United Brethren Church in October 1925 after completing a four-year course; he was assigned to a church in Chewsville, and later to Otterbein United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.
In 1926, he started and developed a printing department at the former Quincy Orphanage to train children for a career in printing.
He had been active with the former Caledonia Lions Club of Fayetteville.
He was a licensed private pilot.
He is survived by his second wife, Anna Ross Baker Beachley, whom he married
April 30, 1983; three daughters, Janice Shuler of Steelton, Pa., Gladys Beachley of Quincy, Pa., and Laura Mai Cormany of Chambersburg; a son, Ronald Beachley of Chambersburg; a stepdaughter, Jo-Ann Barrows of Mystic, Conn.; four granddaughters; a grandson; two step-granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 61 W. Main St. in Fayetteville. The Rev. Scott R. Ogden, the Rev. John H. Witmer and the Rev. John L. Rauch will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Marjorie M. Gipe

Born July 9, 1924, in Rossford, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Forrest E. and Victoria O. Almester Sarver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Gipe Sr., in 1992.
She worked as a presser at the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 24 years.
She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Gipe and Patricia A. Wagaman, both of Chambersburg; two sons, James W. Gipe Jr. of Chambersburg and Jon E. Gipe of Greenbay, Wis.; two sisters, Alice Zink of Toledo, Ohio, and Reda Sholle of Solon, Ohio; a brother, Donald G. Sarver of Toledo; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, her twin, Marshall Sarver, and Vernon Sarver.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. Luis Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg, with military services conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth L. Hamaker
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth L. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Hamaker, in 1985.
She was an accomplished pianist in the Baltimore area.
She was a member of Greenwood Hills Bible Conference in Fayetteville, Pa., where she played the organ and piano.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Gudenius of Baltimore; two sons, Jonathan R. Hamaker of Baltimore and Timothy L. Hamaker of Flushing, Mich.; a sister, Elsa Loizeaux of Baltimore; two brothers, Fred Lange of Whitehall, Md. and Robert Lange of Ellicott City, Md.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. Alfred Gray and Edward Seuss will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Daniel O. Smith

Born Aug. 20, 1907, in Claylick, Pa., he was the son of the late Daniel M. and Myra Angle Smith.

He farmed; and was employed by Mercersburg Academy. He was employed by Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown for 26 years, retiring in 1969.
He was a member of Two Top Fellowship Church of Mercersburg.
He is survived by one son, Richard L. Smith of Mercersburg; four grandchildren, Anthony Hawk, Tammy Everetts and Daniel Lee Smith, all of Mercersburg, and Holly Cramer of Waynesboro, Pa.; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gwendolyn Myers; one son, Ronald Smith; five sisters, and two brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Linginger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Revs. Paul A. Martin and David E. Crocker will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
