Born Jan. 28, 1921, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel S. and Minnie Utz Blubaugh.
She attended schools in Waynesboro and Quincy, Pa.
She was employed during World War II at Fairchild Aircraft Co. in Hagerstown; and had worked for Publix Shirt Corp. in Waynesboro.
She is survived by one sister, Frances Ruth Parmer of Chambersburg; three brothers, John Blubaugh of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Ted S. Blubaugh of Marion, Pa., and Robert Ordean Blubaugh of Waynesboro; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Blubaugh and Rosella Rosenberry; and two brothers, Everett Blubaugh and Daniel Blubaugh.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Franklin County, Pa.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
Martha B. Wolfinger
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Martha B. Wolfinger, 87, of 261 Apple Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of the late Harry Albert and Florence Isabella Fletcher Bitner.
Her husband, Howard L. Wolfinger, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Aug. 15, 1965.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Greencastle Presbyterian Church, served as a trustee, Sunday school teacher and was active in Presbyterian Women.
She was a member of Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary; Greencastle-Antrim Loyal Daughters; volunteered with American Red Cross; and was a former president of the local Girl Scouts council.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen L. Wolfinger of Alexandria, Va.; one son, Dr. Howard L. Wolfinger Jr. of Poway, Calif.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Klock of Meridian, Idaho; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St., Greencastle. The Rev. Rawley Boone will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle.
Memorial donations may be made to the Organ Fund of Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA 17225; or to Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary, 501 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
William J. Warden Sr.
HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. - William J. Warden Sr., 71, of Hummelstown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1928, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of Lester J. Warden of Hagerstown and the late Helen Gyer Warden.
He retired as an engineer from Conrail.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Hummelstown.
He was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; a former member of Rutherford VFW Post 1213; and Hershey Italian Lodge.
He was a former baseball coach for Hummelstown Little League; and a former Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 74 of Hummelstown.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mildred N. Edwards Warden; two sons, William J. Warden Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla. and Robert G. Warden of Hershey; two sisters, Marlene Shank of Hagerstown and Norma Winpigler of Frederick, Md.; a brother, Galen Warden of Conroe, Texas; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were Wednesday, March 1, at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., Hummelstown. The Rev. Joanne Montgomery Link officiated. Burial was in Hummelstown Cemetery.
The family received friends Wednesday, March 1, at noon, at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Suite 200, Harrisburg, PA 17043.
Arrangements were by Trefz and Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown.
Helen E. Tait
QUINCY, Pa. - Helen Elizabeth Tait, 78, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 12351 Forest Hill Road, Clear Spring, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at the home.
Born July 5, 1921, in Wiconisco, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Snyder Kelley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Elvin Tait, in 1984. They were married
Feb. 25, 1939.
She attended schools in Wiconisco.
She was employed by Muskin Shoe Factory in Millersburg, Pa. for 23 years. She worked at Hagerstown Shoe Factory, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Waynesboro, Pa.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen A. Shroyer of Greencastle, Pa.; three sons, Elvin Tait of Reading, Pa., Ronald L. Tait of Dagsboro, Del. and Darryl L. Tait of Liverpool, Pa.; four sisters, Gertrude Carl of Tower City, Pa., Coramae Reightler and Janet Umberger, both of Lykens, Pa. and Joan Watkins of Wiconisco; a brother, Robert Kelley of Wiconisco; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Bendigo; two grandsons; a great-granddaughter; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. Kenneth Hauk will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.
Memorial donations may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3901 Waynecastle Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium.
