SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Leo W. Strausbaugh, 85, of Michaux Manor Living Center and formerly of 13995 Crest Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born March 17, 1914, in Mount Airy, Md., he was the son of the late George Sr. and Bessie Strausbaugh Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Frances Snively Strausbaugh, in 1997. They were married
Dec. 25, 1945.
He was a 1932 graduate of Fairfield High School; and attended Messiah Bible College in Grantham, Pa.
He worked at Happel's Greenhouse in Wayne Heights, Pa.; was employed by Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro in the shipping department. Prior to retiring in 1975, he was a custodian for Waynesboro Area School District at Hooverville School for 20 years.
He was a member of Price's Church of the Brethren in Waynesboro.
He is survived by a son, Charles L. Strausbaugh of Waynesboro; a half-sister, Lillian Smith of New Market, Md.; a half-brother, George Davis Jr. of New Market; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister; and two half-brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. C. William Spangler will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kenneth R. Starliper
LAKE PLACID, Fla. - Kenneth Ray Starliper, 60, of 25 Lake Henry Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at his home.
Born April 2, 1939, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Esther C. Marlin Starliper of Hagerstown and the late Clayton Harry Starliper.
He was a 1957 graduate of Greencastle High School; and attended electronics school.
He owned and operated Starliper's Quality Electronics in Waynesboro, Pa. He worked as a grounds supervisor at Avon Park (Fla.) Community College; and for Home Builders Youth Academy in Lake Placid as supervisor and instructor of landscaping and design.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of American Legion Post 25; Loyal Order of Moose; BPO Elks Lodge 2661, all of Lake Placid; and Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373 of Greencastle, Pa.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Danette Hiser of Maugansville; two sons, Stephen Starliper of Frederick, Md. and Kristopher Starliper of Lake Placid; a sister, Nancy D. Coulter-Brantner of Hagerstown; a brother, Clarence Starliper of Shermansdale, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald C. Starliper.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. in Greencastle. The Rev. Ralph L. Fry will officiate.
Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery in Kauffman Station, Pa., with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Etta L. Russell
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Etta L. Russell, 79, of Piney Mountain, and formerly of 419 W. Born Nov. 5, 1920, in Scott County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Orbin and Nora Mae Gilliam Robinette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Russell, in 1968.
She was a homemaker.
She had attended Bethel Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Sue R. Lehman of Hagerstown, Rosalind R. Martin of Clear Spring and Grace T. Shindledecker of Chambersburg; two sons, Edmond O. Russell of Olney, Md. and David Russell of Kingsport; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Mae Dehart; two sisters; three brothers; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church, Benevola Church Road in Boonsboro. The Revs. Roger Martin and Keith Sider will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park in Kingsport.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg; and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the church.

Doris L. Van Zile
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Doris L. She is survived by her husband, William H. Van Zile, whom she married
Nov. 29, 1948; three daughters, Barbara Payne of Texas, Jacqueline Gary of Rockville, Md. and Jean Lease of Hagerstown; a son, William Van Zile of Rockville; a brother, Harold Ebersole of Beltsville, Md.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul H. Ebersole Jr. and Donald Ebersole.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. James Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert M. Pittman
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Robert M. He was a member of National Rifle Association; Mount Parnell Lions Club; Elks BPOE 600 of Chambersburg, Pa.; General James Chambers Lodge 801; George Washington Council 66; George Washington Royal Arch 176 of Chambersburg; Zembo Temple of Harrisburg; Waynesboro Shrine Club; Continental Commander 56; South Penn Scottish Rite Club; Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge; and Franklin County Home Builders Association.
He is survived by his wife, Doris E. Brechbill Pittman, whom he married
Dec. 19, 1954; a son, Jeffery Robert Pittman of Millerstown, Pa.; two sisters, Betty Wingert of St. Thomas and Linda K. Brechbill of Chambersburg; two brothers, James L. Pittman of Chambersburg and Thomas W. Pittman of St. Thomas; a half-brother, Clarence Pittman of Mercersburg; and a grandson.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 5327 Warm Spring Road in Williamson. The Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas. The funeral home will open at 2 p.m.

Douglas L. Dixon

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Korrell of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Christina Dixon of Waynesboro; a sister, Lori Kincaid of Jackson, Tenn.; four brothers, Franklin E. Dixon Jr. and Richard Dixon, both of Frederick, Thomas Dixon of New Market, Md. and Raymond Dixon of Jackson; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road in Brunswick, Md. The funeral home will open at 9 a.m.
