Born July 9, 1914, in Artemas, Pa., he was the son of the late Aaron and Mary Schaney Perdew.
He was a laborer for The Textile Co. in Reading, Pa.
He was a member of Shippensburg VFW.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Spirelis of Orwigsburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his companion, Nellie Jamison; and six sisters and brothers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Sarah E. Stains
FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Sarah E. Stains, 83, of 648 Path Valley Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Nov. 29, 1916, in Fannettsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John A. and Leah Gamble Woods; and stepdaughter of the late Alice Pfoutz Woods.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Stains, in 1996.
She formerly owned and operated Our House Restaurant in Fort Loudon. She worked in the cafeterias of schools in the Tuscarora District, and in the kitchen of Caledonia Manor Nursing Home in Fayetteville, Pa.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Fort Loudon, taught Sunday school and had been a member of the consistory.
She attended Fort Loudon Senior Center; and was a member of Franklin County Chapter of DAR.
She is survived by a son, John L. Stains of Waynesboro, Pa.; two grandchildren, Allison R. Stains and Jason B. Stains, both of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Fort Loudon. The Revs. Barron P. Barley and Robert D. Morrison will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery in Fort Loudon.
Viewing will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Minta M. Stinebaugh

Born May 8, 1920, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Esther Barnett Shank.
She was a 1938 graduate of Washington Township High School.
She was employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg; and as an Avon representative.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro, a member of Alpha and Omega Sunday School Class, and taught Beginner's Sunday School Class.
She was a member of National AARP; and a former member of North Chapter 739 AARP. She was a member of bowling leagues.
She is survived by her husband, Russell C. Stinebaugh, whom she married
May 16, 1942; a daughter, Carol D. Ingram of France; two sons, John M. Stinebaugh of Chambersburg and David A. Stinebaugh of Waynesboro; two sisters, Fannie Hardeman of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Susan Stottlemyer of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, John Shank of Hagerstown and Jay Shank of Sykesville, Md.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Stinebaugh Sr.; and two sisters, June Shoemaker and Martha Monn.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. Pastor John F. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilmer F. DeShong

He attended Green Hill High School in Harrisonville; and was a graduate of MTA Truck Driving School in Elizabethtown, Pa.
He was employed by Valley Quarries Inc., Black-Top Division in Chambersburg, Pa.
He was a member of Knobsville United Methodist Church in Knobsville, Pa..
He is survived by his wife, Melva Brant DeShong, whom he married
Feb. 18, 1967; two daughters, Heidi C. Akers DeShong of McConnellsburg and Heather D. Spade of McConnellsburg; a sister, Florence Helman of Harrisonville; a brother, Donald DeShong of Chambersburg; and a granddaughter.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Knobsville United Methodist Church. Pastor Brian Sweeney will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville; and Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Evelyn R. Stine

She is survived by her husband, Harold A. Stine, whom she married
Feb. 11, 1949; one daughter, Bonnie Updyke of Virginia; one sister, Ruth St. Clair of Apollo Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Roy S. Mowery Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Stanley Mowery of Colorado and Howard Mowery of Conroe, Texas; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John T. Keefer

Born Sept. 12, 1918, in Indian Springs, Md., he was the son of the late Harry H. and Ascha M. Ritz Keefer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Mae DeLauder Keefer, in 1977.
He was employed by the federal government as a welder. From 1950 until 1996, he owned and operated John T. Keefer Excavating.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by three daughters, Mary K. Hawbaker of Lemasters, Pa., Lee Ann L. Witter-Keefer and Pamela D. Brookhart, both of Fort Loudon; a son, John M. Keefer of Fort Loudon; a brother, George E. Keefer of Fort Loudon; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Keefer; and a brother, Charles L. Keefer.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave. in Mercersburg, Pa. The Rev. W. David Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
The viewing will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
