Born April 12, 1927, in Zullinger, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ezra G. and Lula Jane Eigenbrode Fitz Sr.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Washington Township High School in Washington Township, Pa., and a 1947 graduate of the former Waynesboro Business College in Waynesboro, Pa.
She had worked as a cashier at the former Lincoln Loan Co. in Waynesboro and the former Beneficial Finance Company in Chambersburg. She was last employed at McBeth Corporation in Chambersburg.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg, where she was active in WELCA and various church committees.
She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Palmer, whom she married
Sept. 22, 1951; two daughters, Nancy Ann Lawyer of Boiling Springs, Pa., and Lori Jane Palmer of Chambersburg; and a brother, Ezra G. Fitz Jr. of Zullinger, Pa.
A memorial service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 W. Washington St. in Chambersburg. The Rev. Steven Dorsett will officiate.
Private burial will be held prior to the memorial service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
There will be no public viewing. However, the family will receive friends Monday at noon at the church.

Mildred R. Wishard
YORK, Pa. - Mildred R. Wishard, 83, of York, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at her home.
Born July 17, 1916, in Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Maude E. Webb Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Wishard.
She worked as a presser at Roanna Girl, retiring in 1984 after 23 years of employment.
She is survived by five daughters, Joan L. Landis, Joyce L. Althoff and Carol A. Meyers, all of York, Karen S. Buchanan of West Chester, Pa., and Linda M. Roth of Mount Wolf, Pa.; three sons, Gerald L. Wishard of York, John C. Wishard of Nolensville, Tenn., and Stephen E. Wishard of Manchester, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Rudy of Hagerstown; a brother, William Kendall of Hagerstown; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine C. Hall, and a son, Arthur Wishard.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. in York. The Rev. Raymond D. Fravel, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Pearl U. French
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pearl U. French, 91, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 244 E. Franklin St. in Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, March 10, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 12, 1908, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Maynard and Nettie Suzanna Price Unger.

She worked in food processing at the former Spitz Co. in Greencastle and at Musselman's. She also worked as a food preparer at several area restaurants.
She attended Otterbein United Brethren Church of Greencastle.
She is survived by a daughter, Marian Mills of New Cumberland, Pa.; a son, Edgar L. St. Clair of Hancock; a sister, Olive Heinbaugh of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; three nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a son, David D. French Jr., in 1969, and a sister, Mabel Ludwig.
Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. David Rawley will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to services.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Otterbein United Brethren Church, 146 Leitersburg St., Greencastle, PA 17225.
Cordie E. Williams

She was a graduate nurse.
She attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
She was a member of Venice Yacht Club.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ralph H. Williams; a daughter, Leslie McGlynn of Clayton, N.C.; two sons, Dana C. Williams of Nashville, Tenn., and Todd B. Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; four sisters, Jean Clark, Mary Ellen Read and Marilynn Read, all of Clearfield, and Peggy Klingelberg of California; five brothers, Russell Read of California, and Rodney Read, Rodger Read, Ray Read and Rex Read, all of Clearfield; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Helen E. Hoffman
DUNMORE, Pa. - Helen Elias Hoffman, 84, a resident of Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center, and formerly of 38 S. for 59 years.
She was a 1934 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Scranton, the original altar guild and the Lutheran Welfare Service Auxiliary and was a Sunday school teacher.
She also was a member of Lackawanna Audubon Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Trudy J. of Dunmore; a son, Arthur F. Hoffman Jr. of Lake Ariel, Pa.; a brother, John Elias of Hagerstown; nieces; great-nieces; a nephew; a great-nephew; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Clayton, and a brother, Delmar Elias.
Private services were held Thursday at Cox Funeral Home in Scranton. The Revs. C. Albert Wagaman, Klaus G.W. Molzahn and William A. Mierop officiated. Burial was in Dunmore Cemetery.

He was a member of George Washington Lodge 143, George Washington Chapter 176, George Washington Council 66, Continental Commandery 56, and Harrisburg Consistory.
He is survived by his wife, Luella E. Ptacek Smith.
He was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. C. Edward Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. George Washington Lodge 143 will conduct a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open from 2 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
