Gearhart Sr., 74, of HC Box 153, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, in the Extended Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center.
Born April 8, 1925, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of the late Andrew and Bessie Jane Bathalow Gearhart.
He was employed as a carpenter for Keystone Homes, retiring in 1989.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Wilma Jean Vosbaurgh of Williamsport; a son, Charles F. Gearhart Jr. of Wells Tannery; a stepson, Elwood Hull of Middletown, Md.; three sisters, Evelyn Onusko of Big Cove Tannery, Mary Johnson and Nellie Weller, both of Hancock; a brother, Boyd Gearhart of Hancock; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, John Gordon Jr.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Laurel Ridge Christian Church, Big Cove Tannery. The Rev. Willis Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. 2nd St., McConnellsburg, Pa., and Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 2 p.m.
Morvil E. Carbaugh

Born June 10, 1933, in Guilford Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Scott and Anna Fortney Carbaugh.
He attended New Franklin schools.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 22 years, retiring in 1995. He was previously employed by Chambersburg Reclamation Plant.
He attended Waynesboro Assembly of God Church and the Sunday school class.
He was a member of New Franklin (Pa.) Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Statler Carbaugh, whom he married
July 24, 1954; two daughters, Patricia Rzomp of Hagerstown, and Pamela Brown of Chambersburg; two sisters, Helen Burkholder of Shippensburg, Pa., and Mabel Peiffer of Waynesboro, Pa.; three brothers, Robert Carbaugh of Chambersburg, Marvin Carbaugh of Upton, Pa., and Elwood Carbaugh of Greenvillage, Pa.; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Revs. Walter Stuart, Dwan Newsome and Vivian Carbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Gipes Grove Cemetery in Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.

Samuel H. Stambaugh

He was a 1949 graduate of Chambersburg High School; attended Hagerstown Junior College, and Shippensburg (Pa.) State Teachers College.
He was purchasing manager for TB Woods Sons in Chambersburg for 38 years, retiring in 1991.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW and B.P.O. Elks 600, both in Chambersburg, and South Mountain (Pa.) Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores E. Filipovitz Stambaugh, whom he married
, Dec. 26, 1954; three daughters, Christine E. Stambaugh Lautenslager of Chambersburg, Susan E. Stambaugh Wagner of Newark, Del., and Sharon A. Stambaugh Prentice of Salem, Ore.; one son, Samuel H. Stambaugh Jr. of Chambersburg; four sisters, Norma Beachley, Gwendolyn Henneberger and Jean McCleary, all of Chambersburg, and Betty Greenfield of Bethesda, Md.; one stepsister, Ruth Weaver of Chambersburg; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Stoner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Daniel F. Lawler as celebrant. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing; the family will receive friends at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Diffenderfer; a sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God. The Revs. Paul W. Nolan, Eleanor Verrico and Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters, Pa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Sara M. Mellott

May 15, 1946; as son, Mathern William Mellott of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother, Albert Shaw of Stoystown, Pa.; a step-grandson; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Predita Shaw Edwards.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville. Von Calahan and John Rideout will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 2 to 9 p.m.
Elmer J. Wingert
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Elmer J. He was a farmer, and also served as St. Thomas Township supervisor for 24 years.
He was a member of Criders United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.
He was a member of AARP.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Jane Tritle of St. Thomas and Helen Wingert of Chambersburg; two sons, E. Lee Wingert of Orrstown, Pa., and Eldon M. Wingert of Roxbury, Pa.; three sisters, Ellen Meyers of St. Thomas, Catherine Hostetter of Lancaster, Pa., and Verda Meyers of Orrstown; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Keller, Arby Keller and Eva Penny; four brothers, Ed Wingert, Harry Wingert, Dan Wingert and Ira Wingert; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crider's United Brethren Church, 2380 Loudon Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. David Newell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas. The funeral home will be open Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends. Visitation also will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church.
