GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Kenneth L. Kerlin, 66, of 533 Buchanan Trail West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.
Born May 3, 1933, in Clear Ridge, Pa., he was the son of the late Luray Kerlin.
He was a graduate of Greencastle High School.
He worked for Zarger's Plumbing and Heating of Greencastle for 33 years, first as a licensed plumber. At the time of his death he was the store's clerk. He was a baseball card dealer.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319 of Greencastle.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary D. Breneman Kerlin; a daughter, Barbara L. Norris of Greencastle; a grandson, Christopher Lee Pepple of Greencastle; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Blaine A. Kerlin.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, Pa., with military honors by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday at 1 p.m. Greencastle VFW will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m.

Vernon E. Martin
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Vernon E. "Gene" Martin, 59, of Wyndham Avenue, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born July 24, 1940, in Smithsburg, he was the son of Lillian Irene Brown Martin of Greensburg and the late Austin Vernon Martin.
He attended Smithsburg High School.
He was employed by local contractors and operated Vernon Martin Home Improvements.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was member of Welty Church of the Brethren in Greensburg, Pa.
He was member of AARP and Waynesboro American Legion.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, M. Jane Mummert Martin; a daughter, Melissa J. Kephart of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, Michael Eugene Martin of Waynesboro; two sisters, Delores I. Hammond of Smithsburg and Shirley M. Clopper of Greensburg; a brother, Ronald A. Martin of Smithsburg; two granddaughters; two grandsons; nieces; nephews; aunts and uncles.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Welty Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Dean Mouk will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
Viewing will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Friends may call any time today at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Eva M. Perry
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Eva Mae Perry, 85, of Piney Mountain, and formerly of 7934 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, and Brookside Suites at Piney Mountain, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Piney Mountain.
Born April 27, 1914, in Greene Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Alta Shepherd West.

She was employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa., for 38 years. She worked in the dietary department of nursing homes, including Franklin County Nursing Home and South Mountain Restoration Center.
She was a member of Mount Union United Methodist Church in Fayetteville; was a former church treasurer; and a member of the Ladies Aide Society.
She attended Chambersburg Senior Center.
She is survived by a son, John A. Perry of Fayetteville; three sisters, Mary Schnabel and Norabelle Miller, both of Chambersburg, and Romayne Blake of Hanover, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a great-grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Revs. Robert L. Basom and David W. Kraft will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Dorothy L. Crider

She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758 Auxiliary, Waynesboro, and was secretary for 10 years. She had been a member of Blue Ridge Summit (Pa.) Ambulance Squad.
She is survived by her husband, Donald H. Crider Sr., whom she married
June 1988; two daughters, Wanda L. Webb of Rouzerville, Pa., and Dixie L. Dull of Somerset, Pa.; two step-daughters, Rosemary Portner of Zullinger, Pa., and Lorna L. Reely of Rouzerville; a step-son, Donald H. Crider Jr. of Rouzerville; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Edwin Newcomer; a sister; and three brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Bishop H. Frank Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1758 Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 8:30 p.m.
Eleanor M. Klinger

She is survived by two sisters, Emma F. Rock and Martha F. Hartman, both of Quincy; two brothers, John W. Hartman of Mont Alto, Pa., and Wilbur F. Hartman, of Avalon Manor, Hagerstown; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; step great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Eugene Wingert, in 1994; a sister, Mildred L. Hartman; three brothers, Charles B. Hartman, Samuel C. Hartman and Clarence L. Hartman; and a half-brother, Norman A. Shockey.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Board St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
