Born Sept. 30, 1923, in Morrisdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry and Mary Timko Patnychuk.
He was a 1953 graduate of Penn State University.
He retired in 1981 as a language analyst for the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Md.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Savior Orthodox Church, Harrisburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Maxwell Patnychuk; a daughter, Stephanie Patnychuk Bowers of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son, David J. Patnychuk of Chambersburg; and a sister, Irene Patnychuk Weinacker of Ontario, Canada.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, Harrisburg. The Rev. Daniel Ressotar will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Greek Catholic Orthodox Church Cemetery in Hawk Run, Pa.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Visitation also will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Trisagion Service will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, 5501 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17109; or St. Mary Orthodox Church, 2063 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
George E. Duvall
NEEDMORE, Pa. - George E. Duvall, 82, of 1794 Palmer Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born Monday, Feb. 26, 1917, in Akersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Lum and Pearl Mellott Duvall.
His wife, Pauline Kline Duvall, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1995.
He was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg for 31 years, and as a security guard at Fulton County Fair.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Brethren Church in Needmore.
He also was a member of Needmore and McConnellsburg fire companies; and a former member of Fulton County Sportsmans League.
He is survived by two sons, Russell Duvall of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Coy Duvall of Needmore; one half-brother, Donald Leese of Needmore; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Emil Mellott.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Pa. Pastor Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Brethren Cemetery in Needmore.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 2 to 8 p.m.
Dorothy E. Shank
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy E. Shank, 66, of 2208 New Franklin Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 15, 1933, in Williamson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Ida Shank.
She was the custodian at Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ.
She was a member of Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Victoria Ann Cameron of Chambersburg; a son, Dennis E. Shank of Chambersburg; a foster sister, E. Louise Kauffman of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. Peter W. Emig will officiate. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Geneva M. Ridenour

Born April 30, 1919, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Vernon L. and Bessie Jane Mellott Mellott.

April 30, 1951.
She was a 1937 graduate of Belfast Township High School in Fulton County, Pa.
She was employed by Samuel Dixon State Hospital, later South Mountain Restoration Center, in South Mountain, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of Waynesboro Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Stains of Waynesboro; a son, Steven M. Ridenour of South Mountain; a sister, Madeline Davis of Carlisle, Pa.; a brother, Gene Mellott of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Chester Paul Robinson; and a brother, Walter V. Mellott.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Waynesboro Kingdom Hall, 3901 Waynecastle Road in Waynesboro. Norman Hauk II will officiate.
Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kingdom Hall.

Peggy A. McCartney
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Peggy A. She was a 1956 graduate of Springfield High School and took courses in typing and computers.
She was a clerical worker and later worked as a Realtor.
She is survived by her husband, Fred R. McCartney, whom she married
April 21, 1956; two daughters, Deborah Raeihle of Knightdale, N.C., and Pamela B. McCartney of Newburyport, Maine; a son, Fred Russell McCartney III of Vero Beach, Fla.; a sister, Virginia Hutchinson of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; two granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Jones.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Charles B. Jessen will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Ethel F. Goshorn

She worked at Knouse Foods Inc. in Chambersburg; and had been employed by H.J. Heinz Co. of Chambersburg and Roxbury Canning Co. of Roxbury, Pa.
She was a member of Spring Run United Methodist Church.
She was a member of McCartney Post 232 American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four daughters, Cordelia E. Cosner and Yvonne A. Gregg, both of Carlisle, Helen A. Martin of Roxbury and Eleanor M. Martin of Shippensburg, Pa.; a son, Paul P. Goshorn of Spring Run; a half-brother, Emery Clugston of Elizabethtown, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter; three sons; three sisters; a brother; two half-sisters; a half-brother; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Upper Path Valley Cemetery in Dry Run, Pa. The Rev. Karl R. Herman will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run., with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m.
