UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - George W.C. Ehrhart, 80, of 10391 Upper Strasburg Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Nov. 3, 1919, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late George L. and Vallie M. Snurr Ehrhart.
He worked at Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg, retiring in 1975.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Upper Strasburg, where he was a Sunday School teacher.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Orrstown, Pa., Odd Fellows in Upper Strasburg, and Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post 612, St. Thomas, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Janet V. Rotz Ehrhart, whom he married
May 18, 1942; two daughters, Doris Jane Rawlings of Chambersburg and Barbara Ann Martin of Upper Strasburg; a son, George Samuel Ehrhart of Chambersburg; three brothers, Dana O. Ehrhart of Upper Strasburg, Grayson Ehrhart of Chambersburg and Robert O. Ehrhart of Orrstown; five sisters, Mary Helen Burkholder of Waynesboro, Pa., Bernadina Etter of Chambersburg, Ella Graham of Mercersburg, Pa., Evelyn Wingert of Chambersburg and Mercina Wright of Upper Strasburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. The Rev. Charles W. Kampmeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sterling L. Brown
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Sterling L. "Bud" Brown, 76, of 8351 Lyons Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1923, in Washington Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Angus G. and Ruth E. Kipe Brown.
He was a 1941 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
He worked at Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing in Hagerstown; then as an engineering apprentice and later in the engineering department at Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro, retiring in 1987. He then was an engineering consultant for Landis Tool Co.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Crider's Men's Bible Class and sang with the Crider's Men's Chorus.
He and his wife were youth advisers at E.U.B. Church and helped with the youth at Camp Penn Church Camp on Old Forge Road in Waynesboro.
They taught Child Evangelism at Good News Camp on Country Club Road in Waynesboro; and release time classes for Child Evangelism at Path Valley Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP; and National AARP.
He delivered Meals-on-Wheels for Senior Center in Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, M. Isabelle Miller Brown, whom he married
April 18, 1949; two daughters, Beverly L. Tanner of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Kimberly S. Hovis of Waynesboro; three sons, Jeffrey L. Brown of Middletown, Pa., Dr. Michael J. Brown of Waynesboro and Timothy D. Brown of Bel Air, Md.; a sister, Charlotte Hess of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara A. Shirk; two sisters, Evelyn West and Frances Stitely; and a brother, Wilbur Brown.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 104 N. Potomac St. in Waynesboro. The Revs. Lynn D. Trutt and John L. Rauch will officiate.
Private burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Memorial donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Franklin County, 45 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Margaret F. Sollenberger

Born April 19, 1908, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Sarah Elizabeth Byers Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leibert Sollenberger, in 1943.
She had been employed by L.E.A.D.; and later at Barton's Cookie Jar, retiring in 1969.
She was a member of Edenville United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Norland Chapter 3261 AARP.
She is survived by a sister, Mildred E. Lambert of Menno Village; a niece, and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. The Rev. John Rauhut will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Doris C. Shaffer
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Doris C. Shaffer, 71, of Falling Spring Nursing Home, and formerly of 210 Brindle Drive, Mercersburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1929, in Orrstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oscar E. and Daisy Bell Shearer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raye F. Shaffer, in 1993.
She had been employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg.
She attended Pentecostal churches in the area.
She is survived by a daughter, Emilie Kirby of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Ray A. Shaffer of Mercersburg; a sister, Doreen James of Denver; a brother, John R. Shearer of St. Thomas, Pa.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice A. Shearer; and two brothers, Oscar W. Shearer and Russell E. Shearer.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg. The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
