QUINCY, Pa. - Mary M. Bakner Baker, 90, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 8657 Mormon Church Road, Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at the home.
Born Dec. 28, 1909, in Fairview, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Flora Birley Bakner.
Her husband, Clark A Baker Sr., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Nov. 2, 1974. They were married
on March 10, 1928.
She had been employed as a machine operator at Waynesboro Knitting Mill; and later did seasonal work at Mont Alto Nursery in Mont Alto, Pa., and Miller Fruit Packing in Waynesboro.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith K. Helmuth of Waynesboro; two sons, Lennis Clark Baker of Waynesboro and Ralph E. Baker of State Line, Pa.; one sister, Geneva Stull of Waynesboro; one brother, Gerald Bakner of Falling Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence R. Baker, in 1990; four sisters, Nellie Moats, Violet Masters, Bessie DeHart and Lucy Cole; and four brothers, Clarence Bakner, Harry Bakner, Bruce Bakner and Carl Bakner.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Donald L. Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary E. Beard
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary E. Beard, 75, of 1031 S. Coldbrook Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 10, 1924, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late B. Frank and Estella Owens Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Beard, in 1982.
She was a 1942 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christian Life Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Hickman of Milford, Del.; two brothers, Samuel H. Patterson and David H. Patterson, both of Chambersburg; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister; and two brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Howard L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Gordon B. Maust
EVERETT, Pa. - Gordon Blaine Maust, 84, of 15 W. 3rd St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Bedford (Pa.) Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Myersdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Leonard R. and Nora Mae Sell Maust.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Mae Spiker Maust, in 1989.
He was employed as a dairy farmer, retiring in 1981.
He served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda Cheryl Bowers of Hagerstown; four sons, Steven Eugene Maust of Everett, Pa., David Gordon Maust of Winchester, Va., Jerrill Lee Maust of Frederick, Md., and Jeffrey Lynn Maust of Charles Town, W.Va.; two brothers, Vilis Maust of Somerset, Pa., and Ted Maust of Myersdale, Pa.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 127 Britner Ave. in Williamsport. Pastor Jay Fretz will officiate.
Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St. in Williamsport.

William V. Koons Sr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - William V. Born July 27, 1930, in Tick Ridge, Pa., he was the son of the late John J. and Emma B. Miser Koons.
He attended Zullinger School.
He was employed as a crane operator by Frick Co., Waynesboro; then was employed as a crane operator by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, retiring in 1972. He then worked at the former LCJ Garage in Fayetteville, Pa.
He was a member and former president of Mountain Valley Saddle Club, Tomstown, Pa.; and a member of National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Doris I. Gossert Koons, whom he married
Sept. 24, 1949; four daughters, Linda M. Morris of Duncannon, Pa., Marylou Noll and Deloris I. Mills, both of Waynesboro and Kimberly S. Renoll of Hanover, Pa.; a son, William V. Koons Jr. of Waynesboro; a sister, Sylvania Burgesser of Williamsport; a brother, Harper E. Koons of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Jeanetta Kauffman, Evelyn Bowders, Bertha Miller and infant Doris Koons; a brother, Harold J. Koons; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Donald L. Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gustave S. Braun

Born June 3, 1908, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Philip J. and Eleanor Jesse Braun.
He attended Park Place School and Peabody High School, where he lettered in baseball and football.
He graduated from Temple University School of Podiatry.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II. The first podiatrist to be commissioned he sat on a panel to redesign the navy shoe; and wrote the Shoe-Fitters Manual for the Navy Medical Department. He left the Navy in 1946 with the rank of lieutenant commander.
He had a podiatry Practice in Pittsburgh; and then in Chambersburg, Pa.
He was a member of Pennsylvania Pediatric Medical Society; American Podiatric Medical Association; BPOE; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and The Chambersburg Club.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Roberts Braun, whom he married
in 1981; a stepdaughter, Virginia Henderson Hunter of Plainsboro, N.J.; a son, Pierce Lee Braun of Jenson Beach, Fla.; a stepson, James Dewar Henderson IV of Bethesda, Md.; a brother, Martin Braun of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
His body has been donated to Humanity Gifts Registry of Philadelphia.
At his request, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
