CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Conrad S. Hiester Jr., 68, of 169 Highfield Lane North, and formerly of West Reading and Wyomissing, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 18, 1931, in Reading, Pa., he was the son of Conrad S. Hiester Sr. of Reading and the late Glenna May Hiester.
He was a 1949 graduate of West Reading High School; and received a degree as a Certified Purchasing Manager from Penn State University. He attended Stevens Trade School.
He was purchasing manager and director of personnel of Chambersburg Engineering Co., retiring in 1998. He previously was employed as plant manager and production manager at Barnes Division of Bunker Ramo in Philadelphia; and as vice president and director of purchasing for Reading Tube Corp. in Reading. He had been part-owner of Marley-Hall Co. in Reading.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He received an operating room technician degree from Hospital Corps School of the Navy.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg, and served on the Parish Center Building Committee.
He was a diving coach at the YMCA in Reading; a national senior diving qualifier; a member of Berks County Swimming Association. He was a member of YMCA boards of directors, in Reading and Chambersburg; West Reading Recreational Board; Berks County Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame; National Association of College Stores; National Association of Purchasing Management; American Purchasing Society; Purchasing Management Association of Reading; American Management Association; Copper Club; and Industrial Management Club of Reading and Berks County.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Joan F. Karli Hiester, whom he married
July 5, 1952; three daughters, Cindy Richards, Connie Kelley and Pam Lentz, all of Chambersburg; a son, Kim David Hiester of Sicklerville, N.J.; two sisters, Wilma Holland and Joan Gehret, both of Reading; three brothers, Elwood Hiester, Kenneth Hiester and Joseph Hiester, all of Reading; and 14 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Gloria I. Doyle
DRY RUN, Pa. - Gloria I. Doyle, 53, of 19147 Sweetwater Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at her home.
Born June 11, 1946, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Kenneth S. and Edith Gamble Doyle.
She was a 1964 graduate of Fannett-Metal High School in Willow Hill, Pa. She graduated from Thompson Institute of Harrisburg, Pa., and Thompson College of York, Pa.
She had owned and operated Gold 'n' Gray Retirement Home, Dry Run, since 1984; and Abraham's Storage, Spring Run, Pa., since 1994.
She was a member of Upper Path Valley United Presbyterian Church in Spring Run.
A member of Fannett-Metal Fire and Ambulance Co. and its auxiliary, she had served as director, president and vice president of Fannett-Metal Fire Co. She was a former member of Franklin County Fair Board. She served on the Spring Run Cable Co. board of directors and as secretary of the Dry Run Water Association board of directors. She also was a member of Order of the Eastern Star First Court 470, Shippensburg, Pa.; a 4-H leader; member and officer of Dorsett Grange 1888 of Concord, Pa.; and a member of Blair County Providers Association.
She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Doyle, whom she married
Jan. 29, 1996; a daughter, Tracy Smith of Dry Run; five stepchildren; a sister, Lisa McCartney of Dry Run; a brother, P. Michael Doyle of Doylesburg, Pa.; a foster brother, Chester Perry of Spring Run; eight stepgrandchildren, including Ashley Doyle, who lived with her; four nieces and a nephew.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Upper Path Valley United Presbyterian Church, Spring Run. The Rev. Ted Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery in Fannett Township, Pa.
There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fannett Metal Fire and Ambulance Co., c/o Richard Doyle, P.O. Box 51, Dry Run, PA 17220.

Patricia L. Densmore

She was born Aug. 16, 1924, in Chambersburg, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn J. Rupert; and by her second husband, V.S. Densmore.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita M. Rosenberry and Mary L. Shields, both of Dallas; two sons, Glenn J. Rupert Jr. and Rodney C. Rupert, both of Dallas; a sister, Ruth J. Brown of Erie, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
William E. Burkett
NEEDMORE, Pa. - William E. "Eddie" Burkett, 61, of Black Bear Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at his home.
Born Feb. 5, 1938, in Worleytown, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles W. Burkett Sr. and Ruth I. Mullenix Burkett.
He attended Greencastle (Pa.) High School and received his GED while in the military.
He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa., as a guard; Oscar Lohman Contractors in Greencastle, Pa.; and was a guard at Victor Cullen State Hospital in Sabillasville, Md. He was a self-employed contractor from 1970 until the present time.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served in Korea.
He was a member of Bishop Raker V.F.W. Post 655; and Captain James McKibben American Legion Post 561, both of McConnellsburg.
He is survived by four daughters, Carol E. Manns and Trish N. Burkett, both of Waynesboro, Brenda L. Sigel of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Deborah A. Harr of Chambersburg; two sons, William E. Burkett, Jr. of Bunnell, Fla., and Dwight R. Burkett of Chambersburg; three sisters, Betty L. Leidig of Spring Run, Pa., Martha M. Philpott and Peggy L. Rhoades, both of Greencastle; three brothers, Fred R. Burkett and James A. Burkett, both of Greencastle and Henry P. Burkett of Upton, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Michael Burkett; and a brother, Charles W. Burkett Jr.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. The Rev. J. Herman Fisler will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church Cemetery, Coseytown, with military services by the honor guard of Charles M. Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post 1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Martin and Pearl Tosten.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Paul A. Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Welsh Run Brethren Cemetery in Welsh Run, Pa.
Viewing will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Junior C. Kauffman

He retired in 1981 from Pennsylvania Department of Transportation where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in World War II.
He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ in Chambersburg.
He was a member of Charles W. McCleary Post 78 Disabled American Veterans in Chambersburg; Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 in Waynesboro, Pa.; and National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, E. Louise Heckman Kauffman, whom he married
Jan. 27, 1951; one daughter, Victoria Ann Cameron of Chambersburg; one son, Dennis E. Shank of Chambersburg; one sister, Gladys Stine of Mont Alto, Pa.; three brothers, Ben Kauffman of Chambersburg, Kenneth Kauffman of Marion, Pa., and Wrenice Kauffman of Gettysburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Solomon's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Peter W. Emig will officiate. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery in Chambersburg, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg; and Thursday at the church at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Solomon's United Church of Christ, 1594 Swamp Fox Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
