Born Oct. 6, 1933, in Little Cove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Reed Sr. and Esther Pine McDonald.
She was employed by Lucchino Sewing Factory of Greencastle, Pa.
She is survived by three daughters, Beverly M. Anderson of Eastaboga, Ala., Donna K. Ransom of Fredericksburg, Va., and Melissa Ann Shoemaker of Mercersburg; two sons, Marvin V. Shoemaker of Mercersburg, and Chester L. Shoemaker of St. Thomas, Pa.; one sister, Pauline Hull of Hagerstown; three brothers, Charles McDonald, Reed McDonald Jr., and Robert McDonald, all of Mercersburg; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. The Rev. Paul W. Nolan will officiate. Burial will be in Methodist Church Cemetery of Little Cove.
A viewing will be held at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Richard L. Harbaugh
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Richard L. Harbaugh, 78, of 13034 Pen Mar Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born March 19, 1921, in Lantz, Md., he was the son of the late Murray C. and Minnie A. Brown Harbaugh.
He attended Thurmont (Md.) High School.
He was employed by Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro; and West Penn Power Co. in Waynesboro as a lineman, retiring in 1985. He then helped auctioneers Ed Henicle and Matt Hurley with sales.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.
He was a member of Eagles Club Inc. and Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, both of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Eva B. Wright Harbaugh, whom he married
June 8, 1946; three daughters, Mona J. Miller of Mont Alto, Pa., Sheila J. Freeman of Rouzerville, Pa. and Pamela L. Stockslager of Waynesboro; a sister, Grace Miller of Hollywood, Md.; a brother, Walter Harbaugh of Sabillasville, Md.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta McClain; and a brother, Glen Harbaugh.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Patrick J. Clady will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery in Cascade.
The family will receive friends Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thelma K. Florence

Born Sept. 6, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Israel P. and Nellie Naomi Rowe Rinehart.

She was a librarian at Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library in Waynesboro for 18 years, retiring in 1974. She also was the first secretary to Antietam Humane Society.
She was a member of Rouzerville United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Friends of the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Florence, of Quincy United Methodist Home; a son, H. Ritchie Florence of Waynesboro; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Charles Isenberger.
A private service will be held at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, near Rouzerville.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Virginia E. Beitzel
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Virginia E. She is survived by two sons, Leroy E. Beitzel Jr. of Fayetteville, and Samuel L. Beitzel of Burke, Va.; two sisters, Geraldine Zartler of Bath, Pa., and Dorothy Huber of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; one brother, Joseph Berklite of Alburtus, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Berklite.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Menno B. Sollenberger will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Martin B. Gallagher Sr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Martin Bernard Gallagher Sr., 84, of 44 S. Church St., and formerly of 15399 Norwood Ave., Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and Silver Spring, Md., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born July 8, 1915, in Duryea, Pa., he was the son of the late Martin B. and Sarah McHugh Gallagher.
He attended American University and Washington College of Law.
He worked for the U.S. government for more than 55 years as claims examiner with the General Accounting Office and program analyst with Indian Claims Commission for 44 years. He was last employed on the legal staff of Indian Claims Commission. He retired in 1977 in Washington, D.C.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II in the Normandy and Northern France Campaign. He received the European African Middle Eastern Theatre medal and Bronze Service Star.
He was a member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro.
He was a member of Eagles Club, American Legion, Post 15 and V.F.W. Post 695, all of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve W. Gallagher; two sons, Martin B. Gallagher Jr. of Waynesboro, and Kevin M. Gallagher of Las Vegas; a stepson, George E. Harbaugh of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Delia Quinn of Avoca, Pa.; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro. The Rev. Thomas Hemler will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrews Church Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, S. Church and W. Second Streets, Waynesboro, with a Christian Wake service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Blue Ridge Summit Library Fund, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.
