Born Sept. 1, 1912, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Michael Albert and Lilly Painter Helman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frederick Bushman, in 1964.
She had been employed as a youth coordinator for the federal government.
She was a member of Waynesboro Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Simmers; two sisters; and two brothers.
Burial will be private.
At Mrs. Bushman's request, there will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Sylvia R. Rouzer
QUINCY, Pa. - Sylvia R. Rouzer, 86, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 53 Mountain View Drive, Fayetteville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at the home.
Born Feb. 18, 1913, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Malinda Jane Edwards Melius.
She was a homemaker. She had been employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa.
She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, and United Methodist Women.
She was a member of Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, John J. Rouzer, whom she married
Oct. 29, 1930; two daughters, S. Jean Morris and Patricia McKenrick, both of Chambersburg; two sons, John M. Rouzer of Chambersburg and Richard D. Rouzer of Shippensburg, Pa.; two sisters, Iva Barnett of Hustontown, Pa., and Juanita Hockensmith of Harrisonville, Pa.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; seven brothers; and a grandson.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Clyde H. Deshong III will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

George Hippensteel

Born Feb. 8, 1926, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Florence Trail Hippensteel.

He was employed by M. Gordon & Sons, Harrisburg, Pa., as a painter for 38 years. He retired in 1988. He formerly worked as a painter for his father-in-law, Jess Burns, in Chambersburg.
He served in the Merchant Marine.
He was a member of International Brotherhood of Painters & Allied Trades; and Painters & Allied Trades 411 of Harrisburg.
He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Bittinger of Chambersburg; two sons, Stephen M. Hippensteel of Vairico, Fla., and Edward K. Hippensteel of Pasadena, Md.; four sisters, Frances Mellinger of Camp Hill, Pa., and Phyllis Shoemaker, Judy Wyrick and Peggy Parr, all of Shippensburg; two brothers, Clyde Hippensteel of Orrtanna, Pa., and Ronnie Hippensteel of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a friend, Dorothy Levesque of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel Kelchner and Jack Wyrick will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Claude L. Ward
NEEDMORE, Pa. - Claude L. Born Sept. 17, 1922, in Lashley, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Ruie Hendershot Ward.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot with 25 years of service.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, he served during World War II.
He attended Needmore Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife, Caundell J. Deneen Ward, whom he married
June 18, 1949; a son, Gary C. Ward of Needmore; four sisters, Delma Carnell and Emma Ward, both of Hancock, Helen Barnhart of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Mary Jean Young of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three brothers, Glenn Ward and Dane Ward, both of Warfordsburg, and Richard Ward of Hancock; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin T. Ward; a sister, Beatrice Carnell; and a brother, Roger Ward.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Needmore Bible Church. The Rev. Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will be in Buck Valley Memorial Cemetery with military honors by Fulton Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. The funeral home will be open today from 3 p.m.
Catherine E. Johnson
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Catherine E. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara A. McCarney and Janet Shank; and two brothers, Russell Summers and Ralph Summers.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Odell Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
