CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Kathryn O. Shapley, 92, of 437 E. Born Aug. 11, 1907, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Christian B. and Annie Feldman Owen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Pancoast Shapley, in 1995.
She was a 1924 graduate of Chambersburg High School. She graduated from Pierce Business School of Philadelphia in 1927.
She was employed in the business office of Chambersburg High School; taught business courses at Chambersburg High School; and was employed by the Civil Service Commission in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Rocky Spring Chapter DAC; Franklin County Chapter DAR; and Martha Custis Chapter 342 OES.
She is survived by a daughter, Bertha Ann Muck, at home.
She was preceded in death by two half brothers.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Margaret E. Laidig
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Margaret E. Laidig, 86, of Caledonia Manor; and formerly of 4592 Altenwald Road, Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Caledonia Manor.
Born May 9, 1913, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Bertha Grace Vanderau Elliott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen C. Laidig, in 1987.
She was a 1930 graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School.
She was a homemaker; and formerly worked at Stanley Co. in Chambersburg.
She was a member of Fetterhoff Chapel United Methodist Church in Chambersburg, United Methodist Women and Adult Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a son, Alan E. Laidig of Ellicott City, Md.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Elliott and Reba Elliott.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. in Greencastle. Pastor Patrick B. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Fetterhoff Chapel Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

William J. Moore
MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - William James Moore, 72, of 2899 Back Run Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1927, in Glade Springs, Va., he was the son of the late James Henry Sr. and Sallie Kennedy Moore.
He was a retired foreman for Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point in Baltimore.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in McConnellsburg.
He was a member of American Legion Post 561 and the Senior Citizen Center, both of McConnellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Catherine Ohms Moore, whom he married
Nov. 30, 1973; five daughters, Sherri and Hope, both of McConnellsburg, Dawn of Everett, Pa., Geraldine of Baltimore and Robin of Maryland; three sons, Timothy of Fairfax, S.C., Johnny of Baltimore and Todd of Hampton, Del.; five sisters, Helen Wagner, Loraine Eisner, Mary Lou Wilson, Dorothy Dalton and Sue Burchett; three brothers, Harry Moore, Roger Moore and Robert Moore; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son; 12 sisters and brothers; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home, 6633 Lincoln Highway, Harrisonville, Pa. Pastor Henry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg, with military services by Fulton Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John A. Amicone
NEW HOLLAND, Pa. - John A. He was a 1981 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School; and a graduate of Shippensburg (Pa.) University.
He was employed by Red Lion Controls in York, Pa.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church in New Holland; and a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Yuen Chan Amicone, whom he married
May 19, 1990; one daughter, Lauren Ruth Amicone, at home; three sisters, Cynthia Iozzi of West Chester, Pa., Teresa Black and Mary Rine, both of Chambersburg; and one brother, Stephen P. Amicone of Ambler, Pa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner as celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

Elden G. Davis

Born Jan. 20, 1916, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Harvey D. and Alice I. Wells Davis.

He worked as a plasterer; and retired from Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove, Pa., in 1978 after 10 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Greencastle Foursquare Church.
He is survived by one son, Elden L. Davis of Greencastle; one sister, Annabelle Murray of Greencastle; two granddaughters, Deborah Slye of Chambersburg, Pa., and Wanda Kenney of Martinsburg, W.Va.; three great-grandsons; nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and seven brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Greencastle Foursquare Church in Greencastle. Pastor Victor Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
