Born July 17, 1915, in Friends Cove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Emanuel Ranson and Tena Alma Diehl Koontz.
Her husband, W. Gale Diehl, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Jan. 18, 1978.
She was a graduate of Bedford (Pa.) High School.
she, her sons and husband, owned and operated Gale Diehl Sporting Goods on Lincoln Way West in Chambersburg, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg, Semper Fidelis Sunday School class and Lydia Circle of the Women's Association.
She was a member of Christian Women and Greencastle-Antrim Women's Fellowship; Martha Custis Chapter 342 Order of Eastern Star; Falling Spring Court 139 Order of Amaranth; Menno Haven visitation volunteer, served meals on wheels; and Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, W. Donald Diehl and Thomas E. Diehl, both of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Limbert and Clara Black; and two brothers, Walter Koontz and Palmer Koontz.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. C. Edward Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg; and Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Members of Martha Custis Chapter 324 Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service Friday at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Council P. Burns
QUINCY, Pa. - Council Porter Burns, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 8428 Sharpsburg Pike in Fairplay, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at the home.
Born in Buda, Texas, he was the son of the late George M. and Sallie B. Ferguson Burns.
He was educated in Hayes County, Texas, schools.
He worked on a ranch in Texas; and later farmed and trained horses.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Cartee Burns; one daughter, M. Rosina Saitta of Fayetteville, Pa.; two sons, Paul C. Burns of Waynesboro, Pa., and James A. Burns of Hagerstown; one brother, John C. Burns of Pflugerville, Texas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, G. Robert Burns; five sisters; and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Quincy United Methodist Home, 6596 Orphanage Road in Quincy. The Rev. Carolyn Belenski will officiate.
Private graveside services will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Edward Heim will officiate.

Helen M. Lindsay
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen M. Lindsay, 86, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 22 W. Dahlgren St., Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born June 28, 1913, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John H. and Florence Binkley Wetsel.
She was a homemaker.
She was a life member of Macedonia United Brethren Church, near Greencastle.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul M. Lindsay, a resident of ManorCare Health Services; one daughter, H. Pauline Swisher of Greencastle; one son, Harold E. Lindsay of Maugansville; four sisters, Viola C. Myers, Esther Wetsel, Elva Myers and Ruth Baumbaugh, all of Greencastle; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Opal Egolf.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia United Brethren Church Cemetery, near Greencastle.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Building Fund of Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road, Greencastle, PA 17225.
Dorothy M. Pine
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy M. Pine, 92, formerly of 13986 Dickeys Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Shippensburg Health Center, Shippensburg, Pa.
Born April 10, 1907, in Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late David and Nellie Robinson Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irad H. "Bud" Pine, in 1979.
She retired in 1970 and was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot in inventory and later planning and control.
She was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg.
She is survived by four sons, Wayne F. Pine, Ralph E. Pine, Carl J. Pine and Richard D. Pine, all of Mercersburg; one sister, Esther L. Hawbaker of Waynesboro, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, one grandson, one granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Clayton Memorial Church of God, Mercersburg. The Rev. Paul W. Nolan and the Rev. Eleanor Verrico will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery of Little Cove, Pa.
Viewing will be Wednesday one hour prior to the services in the church.

Floyd O. Fittry
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Floyd Ottis Fittry, 79, of 13 Cherokee Drive, and formerly of Greencastle and Knobsville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at his home.
Born March 25, 1920, in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., he was the son of the late Amon C. and Ethel Golden Mellott Fittry.
He retired in 1982 from Eastern Express as a truck driver.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served World War II.
He was a member of Greencastle Church of God.
He was a life member of Greencastle VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Ora L. Yearty Fittry, whom he married
in 1944; one daughter, Doreen Hall of Shade Gap, Pa.; one son, C. Garry Fittry of Shippensburg; two brothers, Harry Fittery and Paul Fittery, both of McConnellsburg, Pa.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Ann Fittry; one sister, Pauline Bard, and one brother, Kermit Fittry.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Inc., 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg. The Rev. Floyd Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open at 2 p.m.
Fulton County Honor Guard will conduct a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Building Fund of Greencastle Church of God, 4480 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, PA 17225.
