CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen Woolford Long, 85, of 121 Village Square and formerly of Hagerstown and Cumberland, Md., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, in Ft. Ashby, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Offutt Woolford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver N. Long, in 1986.
She was a 1934 graduate of Alleghany High School, Cumberland.
She had been employed at the former Celanese Corp. of America, Cumberland, as an examiner.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by one brother, Melvin Woolford of Delaware, Ohio; four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Woolford and Vernon Woolford.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Indian Mount Cemetery, Romney, W.Va. The Rev. Dana Umbel will officiate. Burial will be in Indian Mount Cemetery, Romney.
In keeping with her request, there will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg.
Clair W. Allison

Born Dec. 10, 1914, in East Waterford, Pa., he was the son of the late Howard W. and Lilly M. Armstrong Allison.
He was employed with Local Union 404, Harrisburg, Pa., as an iron worker.
He was a member of United Methodist Church, Richvale, Pa.
He was a member of East Waterford Fire Company, and Senior Citizens of Shade Gap, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Clayton Allison, whom he married
in 1933; one daughter, Dorothy Hutchinson of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; five sons, Clyde Allison of Neelyton, Pa., Clair Allison of Mifflintown, Pa., Donald Allison of Shade Gap, Dean Allison of East Waterford and Robert Allison of Spring Run, Pa.; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Allison.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, Pa. The Rev. Virginia Eminhizer will officiate. Burial will be in Shade Valley Cemetery, Richvale.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Helen E. Hopkins
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen E. Hopkins, 89, a resident of Menno Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of Fort Loudon, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 6, 1910, in Fort Loudon, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mary Trogler Rotz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hopkins, whom she married

She was a 1928 graduate of the former Lemaster High School, Lemaster, Pa. and a 1931 graduate of Shippensburg Normal School, now known as Shippensburg University.
Following graduation she began her elementary school teaching career in Little Cove where she taught for 13 years. She spent more than 39 years teaching at Fort Loudon and Mt. View. She retired in 1971 and substituted for 12 years. As a young woman, she had been employed at HJ Heinz Company; Penn Hall of Chambersburg and the former Rotz's Hatchery of Fort Loudon.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Fort Loudon, As a former member of St. Peter's Reformed Church of Fort Loudon, she was a secretary and treasurer for 36 years. She also taught Sunday School, played piano for programs and was the church organist.
She was a member of Fort Loudon Community Center and Retired Teachers Association.
She was the official basketball scorekeeper for James Buchanan High School and Middle School. She also was scorekeeper for baseball teams in Fort Loudon and softball and Little League teams in Chambersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann Hartman of Chambersburg; one sister, Bertha Souders of Spring Run, Pa.; one granddaughter, Penny L. Schur of Chambersburg; one grandson, Courtney A. Hartman of Lancaster, Pa. and one great-grandson, Chandler M. Schur of Chambersburg.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ of Fort Loudon. The Rev. Barron O. Barley will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, Pa. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 13189 Main Street, Fort Loudon, PA 17224.
Lester W. Hann

Born June 28, 1920, in Laidig, Pa., he was the son of the late Carl Glenn and Julia Blanche Mumma Hann.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as a maintenance person.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville.
He was a member of American Legion Post 561 of McConnellsburg, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Mellott Hann, whom he married
April 17, 1948; a daughter, Connie Strock of Elkton, Md.; a son, Dennis Hann of Fort Littleton, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Hess of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother, Melvin Hann of Harrisonville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Hann, and two brothers.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home, 6633 Lincoln Highway in Harrisonville. Pastor William Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open today from 2 to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.
Leota W. Fahnestock
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Leota W. Walk Fahnestock, 66, of 2735 Luther Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1933, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Emma Martin Walk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Fahnestock, in 1989. They were married
Sept. 23, 1956.
She was a 1951 graduate of William Penn High School in York, Pa. She received training as a registered nurse at Chestnut Hill Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, graduating in 1956.
She worked on the nursing staff of South Mountain Restoration Center. She held the position of assistant director of nursing from March 1981 until her retirement in January 1986.
She was a member of Saint Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scotland, Pa., where she volunteered as parish nurse.
She also was a member of Historical Society of York, Historical Society of York Auxiliary, and Ephrata Cloister Associates.
She was a life member of Chambersburg American Legion Post 46 Ladies Auxiliary, Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Ladies Auxiliary, Amvets Post 224, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Post 78, all of Chambersburg; Alumni Association of Chestnut Hill Hospital School of Nursing; and Kittochtinny Historical Society in Chambersburg.
She is survived by her foster mother, Dora F. Justis of Bensalem, Pa.; a sister, Martha Sutton of Saratoga, Calif.; and two nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Sempervirens Fund, Drawer BE, Los Altos, CA 94023, or to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
