Mary B. Hennessy

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary Barbara Hennessy, 72, of 243 N. Seventh St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999, at her home.

Born March 5, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leon Selman and Dorothy Berry Selman Shields.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Hennessy Jr., in 1991.

She was a homemaker; and assisted her husband in the family business, Hennessy Products Inc. on Progress Avenue in Chambersburg.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg; was a communicant; and supported community programs and young priests in the rectory.

She was a volunteer at Chambersburg Hospital. She had arranged for the Hennessy residence to be donated to the Chambersburg Hospital Cancer Treatment Center for a residential facility for patients undergoing treatment for cancer and their families.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen B. Granger of Boston, Mass., and Barbara H. Ritchey of Chambersburg; two sons, Michael K. Hennessy and Patrick J. Hennessy, both of Chambersburg; two sisters, Jean Dennin of Carlisle, Pa., and Anne Brockett of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave. in Chambersburg. Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner and Father Andrew J. Fontanella will be celebrants. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hennessy House Family Residence, c/o Chambersburg Hospital, 112 N. Seventh St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Bonnie C. Spence

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Bonnie C. Spence, 67, of 211 N. 4th St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 29, 1932, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Alden H. and Pearl Ramsey Cutchall.

She was a lab technician for Smithkline Corp.

She was a Protestant.

She is survived by two sisters, Linda Wireman of McConnellsburg, and Sandra Doyle of York, Pa.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Cutchall; and three sisters, Jean Black, Betty Rockwell and Ann DeShong.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St. in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Barron Barley will officiate.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday at 6 p.m.

Beulah E. Gossard

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Beulah E. Gossard, 86, of 226 Ramsey Ave., and formerly of 5286 Treher Road, Fayetteville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at her home.

Born July 27, 1913, in Lebanon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ammon and Cora Lessler Gibble.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gossard.

She did housecleaning in the Chambersburg and Fayetteville areas.

She was a member of Church of the Brethren, Lebanon.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Binkley of Lebanon; one half-sister, Grace Dunn of Lebanon; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Gibble.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Midway Cemetery, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon. The Rev. Ronald E. Ludwick will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Memorial donations may be made to Church of the Brethren, 400 Locust St., Lebanon, PA 17042.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Mildred M. Besecker

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mildred M. Besecker, 80, a resident of Menno Haven, and formerly of 3035 Lincoln Way East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Menno Haven.

Born May 15, 1919, in Greene Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late W. Harry Sr., and Sarah Shetter Forbes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Etter in 1968 and her second husband, Kenneth A. Besecker, in 1996.

She was a 1937 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

She retired in 1984 from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.

She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg and a member of Golden Link Sunday School Class.

She was a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), a former member of Chambersburg Hospital and Piney Mountain Ladies Auxiliaries.

She is survived by two nephews; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; seven great-great-nephews and six great-great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Cora Rhodes and three brothers, Samuel Harold Forbes, W. Harry Forbes Jr. and Robert Forbes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Lester F. Stine and the Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Milton E. Yeager

HOWE, Ind. - Milton Edward Yeager, 86, of 1640 East State Road 120, and formerly of 19904 Blue Heron Lane, Hagerstown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a lifelong resident of Hagerstown, having moved to Howe three months ago.

Born May 10, 1913, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late I. Edward and Annie Ernst Yeager.

He is survived by two daughters, Louise Hunsberger of Perkasie, Pa. and Betty Wood of Howe; one son, Merle Yeager of Centreville, Mich.; one sister, Martha Ebersole of Chambersburg, Pa.; three brothers, Frank Yeager, Fred Yeager and Glen Yeager, all of Chambersburg; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, George Yeager and Glenn Yeager; three brothers, Roy Yeager, Raymond Yeager and Earl Yeager; one sister, Esther Yeager and one grandson, Ronald Yeager.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Northside Mennonite Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Gary Zook and the Rev. Nelson Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Reiff Mennonite Church Cemetery, near Cearfoss.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., and on Wednesday one hour before the services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Mennonite Church, 716 North Locust Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to a charity of one's choice.
