Born Sept. 14, 1934, in Greencastle, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Ada Cooper Carbaugh.

He was employed by Hess Orchards, Waynesboro, Pa.; Blue Goose Fruit Sales of Hagerstown; and Keystone Fruit Marketing as a fruit broker.

He was a member of Harvest Time Ministries, Chambersburg.

He was a member of Acacia Lodge 586 Free and Accepted Mason, Waynesboro, Harrisburg Consistory; Locking Gun Club of Mercersburg, Pa., and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Mary Helman Carbaugh, whom he married in 1954; three daughters, Brenda Catanzaro of Fort Wayne, Ind., Patricia Strine of Chambersburg and Crystal McLain of Monticello, Minn.; one son, Marvin W. Carbaugh Jr., of Big Pool; one sister, Mary M. Poe of Chambersburg; three brothers, Lester L. Carbaugh of Mont Alto, Pa., Preston E. Carbaugh and Orville G. Carbaugh, both of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Carbaugh; four brothers, Walter E. Carbaugh, William R. Carbaugh, Paul A. Carbaugh and Lee D. Carbaugh.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert L. Basom will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. by Acacia Lodge 586.

Ralph E. Hardman

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Ralph Ernest Hardman, 72, of 13183 Pennersville Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 1, 1927, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter E. and Lena R. Long Hardman.

He attended Fountaindale (Pa.) School.

He worked at Greenstone Grit Mill, Blue Ridge Summit; and was employed at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, as a machinist, retiring in 1989.

He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in Luzon, Philippines.

He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Fountaindale.

He was a member of Cascade American Legion Post 239, Cascade; South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Smithsburg; Blue Ridge Sportsman Club, Blue Ridge Summit; Eagles Club Inc. and William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695, both of Waynesboro; and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Harbaugh Hardman, whom he married in 1950; one son, Terry L. Hardman of Waynesboro; three sisters, Clara Sinclair of Wellington, Fla., Thelma Wagner of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Joyce Tindall of Point Orange, Fla.; two brothers, Richard W. Hardman of Waynesboro and Larry Hardman of Mt. Airy, Md.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey P. Hardman; and a sister, Hilda Wolfe.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Geraldine C. Cook

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Geraldine C. King Cook, 90, of 413 Cleveland Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at her home.

Born July 9, 1909, in Plain Hill, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Hazel B. King.

She was a 1927 graduate of Washington Township High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Emmert Cook Sr., in 1966. They were married in 1928.

She was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill. She and her husband opened Cook's Dry Cleaning in Waynesboro in 1955. She retired in 1972.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.

She was a member of National AARP.

She is survived by one daughter, Norma Jean Hull of Blue Ridge Summit; three sons, Ronald W. Cook of Fayetteville, Pa., William E. Cook Jr. and Jon B. Cook, both of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate.

The family requests omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.

Eugene V. Ojanen

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Eugene V. Ojanen, 67, of 7747 Lincoln Way East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at his home.

Born Sept. 1, 1932, in Alavus, Finland, he was the son of the late Nester and Saimi Niemi Ojanen.

He was a self-employed contractor in the Chambersburg, Fayetteville and Scotland, Pa. areas.

He served in the Finnish Army.

He is survived by his wife, Minerva Forrester Ojanen; one step-son, David C. Forrester of Greencastle, Pa.; one brother, Lauri Ojanen of Finland; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Kevin Witter will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 East King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Alonza E. McClure

Born June, 14, 1914, in Fayetteville, Pa., he was the son of the late George W. and Harriet Fickes McClure.

He was employed with Borough of Chambersburg, as a heavy equipment operator and retired in 1972.

He was a member of National A.A.R.P.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Caldwell McClure, whom he married in 1964; two daughters, Patsy Deardorff and Doris Robinson, both of Greencastle; two stepsons, Samuel Rice of Chambersburg and Ronald Rice of Wolfsburg, Germany; one stepdaughter, Nancy Goodermuth of Hanover, Pa.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George, W. McClure Jr.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

The family requests omission of flowers and that memorial contributions be made to American Lung Association of Central Pennsylvania, 6041 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112-1208.

W. Roy Mickey

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dr. W. Roy Mickey, 90, of 1421 Philadelphia Ave., and formerly of 531 Briar Lane, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born April 22, 1909, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late W. Chester and Anna Lawyer Mickey.

He was a 1926 graduate of Chambersburg High School. He graduated in 1930 from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., with a degree in chemistry. In 1933, he received a degree in podiatry from Temple University School of Podiatry.

He was a podiatrist in Chambersburg. He went on to teach math and science at both the former St. Thomas High School, St. Thomas, Pa. and James Buchanan Middle School, Mercersburg, Pa., where he retired in 1971.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg, where he served on the church consistory as an elder and on the building committee. He was a Sunday school teacher and served as a Sunday school superintendent.

He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at Dickinson College and the Skull and Key Honor Society, charter member and past president of Chambersburg Kiwanis Club, member of Mercersburg Sportsmen's Club and Trout Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Wyell Mickey, whom he married in 1933; three daughters, Harriet Mickey Lightner of Machias, Maine, Sue Ellen Barnowicz of Tallai, Australia, and Mary Lou Jones of Greencastle; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Rebok.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
