MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Lester M. "Slim-Blackie" Waidlich, 66, of 12169 Buchanan Trail West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Feb. 25, 1933, in Fulton County, Pa., he was the son of the late Lester S. and Sadie Sheffield Waidlich.
He attended Chambersburg High School.
He was an employee of United Telephone Co., retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Mercersburg Moose Lodge 1790; MMP&W Fire Co. of Mercersburg; and Gold Wing Riders Association of Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores M. Butler Waidlich, whom he married
Jan. 9, 1951; four daughters, Shirley A. Rockwell and Beverly C. Robinson, both of Mercersburg, Linda S. Meyers and Marla Kay Strite, both of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Alvin E. Goetz will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Roberta L. Breon
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Roberta L. "Birdie" Vulgamott Breon, 44, of 3368 Clayhill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1955, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Luther L. Sr. and Alverta Misner Vulgamott of Waynesboro.
She worked as a cashier for gas stations and convenience stores in the area.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, William R. Shockey Jr. of Shippensburg, Pa., and Jesse D. Shockey of Fayetteville, Pa.; four sisters, Susan Auchmoddy of Waynesboro, Georgia May Gochenauer of Edenville, Pa., Theresa Ann Davies of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Jean Burkett of Chambersburg, Pa.; three brothers, Luther Vulgamott Jr. of Fort Loudon, Pa., David Vulgamott of Waynesboro and Ronald Vulgamott of Shady Grove, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Vaughn E. Kipe will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert H. Tresler
STATE LINE, Pa. - Robert Hoy Tresler, 70, of 15809 Pennsylvania Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 31, 1929, in State Line, he was the son of the late Alvey C. and Hazel M. O'Neal Tresler.
He was a 1949 graduate of Greencastle (Pa.) High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a construction worker for Callas Construction Co. of Hagerstown, retiring in 1992.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of Frank Carbaugh American Legion Post 373 in Greencastle.
He is survived by three sisters, Catherine L. Shearer of Carlisle, Pa., Doris J. Tressler and Nancy L. Crider, both of State Line; two brothers, Harry W. Tressler of Big Pool, Md., and Donald E. Tresler of State Line; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. The Rev. Joseph Quesenberry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cora E. Carey
NEW OXFORD, Pa. - Cora E. Carey, 99, of Cross Keys Brethren Home in New Oxford, and formerly of 1720 Buchanan Trail East in Shady Grove, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at the home.
Born Sept. 5, 1900, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Charles V. and Margaret E. Harshman Ridenour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Carey, in 1990.
She was a homemaker.
She was a charter member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren; had been a member of Fidelis Sunday School Class; and was a deaconess.
She is survived by a daughter, Louella M. Murray of Shady Grove; a son, John E. Carey of Greencastle, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Browns Mill Cemetery in Kauffman, Pa. Pastor Prudence Yelinek will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Arrangements are by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.

He was employed as a machine operator at Staples.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Franklin and Clara Staubs of Falling Waters, W.Va., and James and Betty Holtzman of Sharpsburg; four sisters, Heidi Brooks and Ashley Holtzman, both of Ridgeland, April Holtzman of Hagerstown and Michelle Paskel of Stephens City, Va.; and four brothers, Michael Bartley Jr. of Martinsburg, James Holtzman of Williamsport, Joshua Bartley and Rusty Bartley, both of Inwood.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Virginia Bartley.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Bill Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Osborne J. Smith
LEVITTOWN, Pa. - Osborne J. "O.J." Born Sept. 20, 1907, in Hanover, Pa., he was the son of the late Grover C. and Emma Grace Springer Smith.
He retired in 1972 from Potomac Edison Co., where he worked in display and photography. He worked part time at Fahrney's Card Shop; worked for Henry's Theater; and Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elizabeth Leopard Smith; two daughters, Elaine Smith Coblentz of Jefferson, and Kathryn Smith Krieg of Bensalem, Pa.; a brother, Woodrow W. Smith of Homeland, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 30, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Rev. James A. Coblentz of Pioneer Baptist Church in Thurmont, Md., officiated.
