MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Earl S. Born June 9, 1924, near Mercersburg, he was the son of the late Morris S. and Bertha Wolf Mellott.
He was employed as a carpenter for various local contractors and retired in 1986.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church of McConnellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Stella Seville Mellott, whom he married
in 1946; six sisters, Hazel M. Briggs, Margaret L. Shaffer, Mildred J. Pine, all of Mercersburg, Elmira Watson of Fayetteville, Pa., Viola B. Overcash of St. Thomas, Pa., and Cora Thomas of Ft. Loudon, Pa.; two brothers, Charles W. Mellott of Mercersburg and Paul R. Mellott of Greencastle, Pa.; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Belvy C. White and the Rev. David Oller will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post 1599.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Beulah M. Patterson
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Beulah M. Patterson, 74, a resident of Caledonia Manor, and formerly of 108 Sherwood Ave., St. Thomas, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Aug. 22, 1925, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Edith Rice Duffey.
She attended Greencastle High School.
She was a homemaker. She did seasonal work for Musselman's in Biglerville, Pa.
She attended Open Door Church, Chambersburg.
She sang on the Faith Temple radio programs years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Carl L. Patterson, whom she married
in 1943; two daughters, Edith Stoops of Greencastle, Pa., and Mary Miley of Chambersburg; one son, Carl L. Patterson Jr. of Lancaster, Pa.; one sister, Elsie Spangler of Smithsburg; three brothers, Paul Duffey of Waynesboro, Harold Duffey of Greencastle and James Duffey of Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Fickes.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to an organizations for the deaf and blind since Mrs. Patterson was both deaf and blind.
Blaine A. Geesaman

Born June 24, 1923, in Thurmont, Md., he was the son of the late Clyde R. and Anna C. Reecher Geesaman.
He attended Washington Township High School.
He was employed at Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing, Hagerstown, as an assembler. He then was a school bus driver for the Waynesboro Area School District. Until his retirement Jan. 1, 1999, he was self-employed in the sale and installation of storm windows, storm doors and other aluminum products.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church, Rouzerville.
He was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 and Eagle's Club, all of Waynesboro, and National A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty F. McDaniel Geesaman; one daughter, Beverly F. Foose of Rouzerville; one son, Jeffrey B. Geesaman of Waynesboro; one sister, L. Virginia Sease of Waynesboro; one brother, Clyde E. Geesaman of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; four grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one step-great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michard Gordon Foose.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martha I. Cluck

Born Aug. 15, 1921, on Polktown Road, Washington Township, Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. and Nettie R. Miller Shank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Lt. Col. Joseph A. Cluck, whom she married
in 1941.
She was a 1939 graduate of Washington Township High School.
In her early life she worked at the Stanley Co., Chambersburg, and then at Aberdeen Tractor and Farm Supplies, Havre De Grace, Md. Prior to her retirement in 1981, she worked for Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the Transportation Department as a civilian for 24 years.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Christ, Waynesboro, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Lodge 27, Havre De Grace; Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary; B.P.O. Elks Lodge 731 Ladies Auxiliary; Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary; Antietam Humane Society; Beta Y Gradale Sorority and A.A.R.P. South Chapter 2977, all of Waynesboro. She also bowled with the senior Keglers at Sunshine Lanes, Waynesboro.
She is survived by one son, Jack E. Cluck of Waynesboro; one sister, B. Viola Rigenbrode of Waynesboro; two brothers, Fred L. Shank and Lincoln E. Shank, both of Waynesboro, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lin M. Smalec will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. An Eastern Star service will be held at 8:30 p.m. by Mount Vernon Chapter 396 Order of the Eastern Star, Waynesboro.

Charles R. Bakner
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Charles Robert "Bob" Bakner, 72, of 11504 Anthony Highway, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, at Quincy United Methodist Home.
Born Oct. 13, 1927, in Blue Rock, Quincy Township, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles N. and Beulah A. Knepper Bakner.
He was a 1945 graduate of Quincy High School.
He worked for the U.S. Government as an auto mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot and later at Fort Ritchie as a computer operator. He then worked for the Internal Revenue Service Computer Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. He retired in 1982 after 34 years of service with the government. Following that retirement, he worked part-time as a security guard at Quincy United Methodist Home, retiring in 1994.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II with the Occupation Forces in Germany. He also served in Battery C, 176th Field Artillery Battalion, Pennsylvania National Guard in Korea.
He was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, where he attended the Mixed Couples Sunday School Class. He served on all committees within the church. He also served as a trustee, deacon, treasurer of Christian Endeavor, the Church and the Men's Brotherhood. He served as Sunday School Treasurer for 41 years.
He also served on Piney Mountain Nursing Home board of directors and did volunteer work for the home.
He was a member of U.S. Constabulary Association and National A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Virginia M. McCleary Bakner; one daughter, Cheryl E. Zimmerman of Marysville, Pa.; two sons, Craig R. Bakner of Hagerstown and Kevin C. Bakner of Waynesboro; one sister, Beulah Irene Gessaman of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, one niece and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, 7885 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro. The Rev. Jaye M. Bartle and the Rev. Donald L. Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rhodes Grove Camp Association, 7693 Browns Mill Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
