Born July 25, 1952, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Joyce Lininger Carl of Fort Loudon, Pa.
She was a 1970 graduate of James Buchanan High School in Mercersburg, Pa.
She was a case worker at the Department of Public Welfare Franklin County Assistance Office in Chambersburg.
She was a member of Mount Olivet United Brethren Church in Chambersburg, where she served as church organist and pianist as well as choir director. She also had taught Sunday School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James W. Brown, whom she married
Feb. 16, 1991, and a son, Timothy D. Kriner of Fort Loudon.
A service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olivet United Brethren Church, 8205 Fort McCord Road in Chambersburg. The Rev. Stan McCammon, the Rev. Ronald Strader and the Rev. Clinton Bingaman will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery in Fort Loudon.
There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends Monday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mary P. Badorf
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mary P. "Betty" Badorf, 82, of 10 Wolfe Drive Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Dec. 17, 1916, in Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late David E. and Mary E. Seville Sharar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen S. Badorf, in 1973.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Brethren in Christ Church in Mercersburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Olga E. McQuade of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Anna Mary Wolfe of Mercersburg; two sons, Robert S. Wolfe and Paul A. Badorf, both of Mercersburg; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Timmons.
A service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Roy E. Brake Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Emma E. Sample
QUINCY, Pa. - Emma Esther Shockey Sample, 79, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of 13199 Midvale Road, Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born June 8, 1920, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles Luther and Mary Benchoff Shockey.

She was employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill as a machine operator, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of Christ.
She also was a member of Mount Vernon Chapter 386 Order of the Eastern Star in Waynesboro, South Chapter 2977 AARP, Waynesboro and National AARP.
She was a former member of Senior Citizens Bowling League in Waynesboro.
She is survived by two sisters, Frances George of Waynesboro, and Deborah Gekoski of Pasadena, Md.; two brothers, Rodney Shockey of Alaska and Terry W. Shockey of Waynesboro; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles F. Shockey.
A service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Minister Richard R. Rexrode and Elder Thomas Altizer will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery in Cascade.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Chester T. Bingaman Sr.
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Chester Theodore Bingaman Sr., 71, of 6489 Guitner Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1928, in Fairview, Md., he was the son of the late Wesley and Leona Mowen Bingaman.
He was first employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa., later worked as a supervisor at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, and then as a painter for J.J. Smith of Greencastle, retiring in 1990.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was of the Prostestant faith.
He was a member of the American Legion of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Fulton Overseas Veteran's Association of McConnellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine J. Ambrose Bingaman, whom he married
May 28, 1946; three daughters, Audrey J. Bingaman and Victoria F. Bingaman, both of Greencastle, and Cheryl D. Ash of Fannettsburg, Pa.; three sons, Roger E. Bingaman of Charleston, S.C., and Chester T. Bingaman Jr. and Harold R. Bingaman, both of Greencastle; six sisters, Ruth Carbaugh of Mercersburg, Pa., and Sarah Hykes, Matilda Oberholzer, Betty Kuhn, Rose Davis and Erma Foley, all of Greencastle; a brother, Kenneth Bingaman of Greencastle; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jackson, and a brother, Edward Bingaman.
A service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. in Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg, with military graveside services conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post No. 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
John E. Keefer
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - John Edward Keefer, 57, of 7148 Lincoln Way West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, in West Virginia.
Born Sept. 5, 1942, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of R. Hayes Keefer of Chambersburg and the late Hilda Higgins Keefer Hornbaker.
He was a machinist and supervisor at James River Corporation, formerly American Can Company, from 1962 until his retirement.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Carol L. Gress, whom he married
June 3, 1967; two daughters, Pamela Sites of Mercersburg, Pa., and Jennifer Keefer at home; a sister, Donna Hull of Chambersburg; two brothers, Charles Keefer of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., and James Keefer of Mercersburg; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Keefer.
Service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas. The Rev. John Rauhut will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, with graveside military services conducted by members of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.
