WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mildred Marie Hess, 99, of 119 Clayton Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Quincy United Methodist Home.
Born March 1, 1900, in Five Forks, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harvey Elmer and Margaret Amelia Young Bonebrake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hess. They were married
May 15, 1918.
She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro, where she was a member of Fidelis Sunday School class and Ladies Aide Society.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Valentine of Chambersburg, Pa., Marie Martin of Waynesboro and Pauline Martin of Hagerstown; four sons, John Hess Jr. of Greencastle, Pa., Kenneth R. Hess of Chambersburg, and Walter L. Hess and Robert L. Hess, both of Mont Alto, Pa.; two sisters, Catherine Martin of Fayetteville, Pa., and Margaret M. Oliver of Chambersburg; a brother, Chalice E. Bonebrake of Mont Alto; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 47 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Whitmore; a son, Joseph E. Hess; and two brothers, Doc Lesie Bonebrake and Preston Bonebrake.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church. The Revs. Michael Newman, Allan Mummert and Donald L. Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Church and Second streets in Waynesboro; and Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Robert E. Juenger Jr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert E. Juenger Jr., 48, of 368 E. Washington St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at his home.
Born May 16, 1951, in Missouri, he was the son of Joan Bietsch Juenger of Scotland, Pa., and the late Robert E. Juenger Sr.
He was a 1970 graduate of Chambersburg High School. He attended Keystone Junior College in La Plume, Pa.
He retired from Knouse Foods in Chambersburg.
He had been an assistant coach with Chambersburg Little League and the coach of Andrew Buchanan Elementary School's soccer team. He had been active with Boy Scout Troop No. 128 in Chambersburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Alta Goshorn Juenger, whom he married
Dec. 22, 1993; two sons, Shawn C. Juenger and Nathan R. Juenger, both at home; a sister, Lisa Smith of McSherrystown, Pa.; and three brothers, Steve Juenger and Jimmy Juenger, both of Scotland, and Richard Juenger of Chambersburg.
Service will be today at 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Roy Fahnestock will officiate.
Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John B. Kramer
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - John Byron "Jack" Kramer, 78, of 209 Homewood Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 1, 1921, in Punxsutawney, Pa., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret Chillcotte Kramer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Hoffman Kramer, in 1995. They were married
Oct. 30, 1948.
He was a 1939 graduate of Pennsylvania Industrial School for Veterans' Orphans in Scotland, Pa.
He was employed by International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 143 in Harrisburg, Pa., as an electrician. He retired in 1983.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and was stationed in Fort Monmouth, N.J. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He served in the 721st Coast Artillery in Alaska during World War II. He retired in 1966 as a master sergeant.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1191; and Joe Stickell American Legion Post No. 15, both of Waynesboro.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Ann Brody of Williamsport; two sons, Kurt Michael Kramer of Frederick, Md., and Karl Hans Kramer of Waynesboro; a grandson; and two step-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

She was employed by Chambersburg Hospital, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Chambersburg.
She is survived by a sister, Virginia R. Schlotterbeck of Baltimore; a niece; three nephews; six great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald R. Miller, Ray G. Miller and Eugene R. Miller.
Services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Elmer T. Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James E. Witt
BURNT CABINS, Pa. - James E. Born June 13, 1938, in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of Virginia I. Newcomer Witt of Johnstown and the late James E. Witt.
He graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in science from Elizabeth College, a master's degree in education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and his osteopathic degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He served his internship at Doctors Hospital in Erie, Pa.
He was an osteopathic doctor. He went into private practice in Spring Run, Pa., in 1970. He taught clinical medicine and was director of rural clinics at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1973 to 1980. In 1980, he opened a practice in McConnellsburg, Pa. In May 1998, he became a part-time clinical instructor at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was a staff member and former chief of staff at Fulton County Medical Center. He also had been a farmer since 1964.
He was a member of Church of the Brethren in New Paris, Pa. He attended Burnt Cabins Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association and was on the board of directors of Community State Bank of Orbisonia at the time of his death.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Judith R. Mathias Witt, whom he married
May 11, 1963; and a sister, Jenny Hench of Hublersburg, Pa.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Pastor Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Burnt Cabins Presbyterian Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Assembly of God Church, 411 N. Fourth St., McConnellsburg, PA 17233, for restoration of the log cabin across the street from his office.
Robert J. Beard Sr.

Born April 19, 1914, in Ringgold, he was the son of the late Norman J. and Edith Hoover Beard.

He was a 1938 graduate of Shippensburg University. He received his master's degree in education from Penn State in 1946 and the John Hay Fellow from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1964.
An educator all his life, he began as a social studies and science teacher in Blain, Pa., from 1938 to 1942. From 1942 to 1948, he taught pre-flight aeronautics at Chambersburg High School and served as guidance counselor from 1942 to 1954. From 1944 to 1954, he served as both football and basketball coach. He became junior high school principal from 1954 to 1957 and then principal of Chambersburg Area Senior High School from 1957 to 1968. He retired in 1978 after serving as administrative assistant to the superintendent of schools in Chambersburg.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, where he served as elder and church school teacher.
He had been chairman of Franklin County Republican Committee; president of Waynesboro (Pa.) Shrine Club; and a member of Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg, Pa.; Consistory; George Washington Lodge No. 143 F & AM; Torch Club 1974; Lions Club 1957; Pennsylvania Secondary School Principals Association 1970; and Shippensburg State College Alumni Association. In 1980, he was inducted into the South Central Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, of which he became a life member and served as president. He was president of Chambersburg YMCA from 1975 to 1977. He was chairman of Shippensburg State College Foundation Drive 1979 and a trustee of Shippensburg University.
He is survived by his second wife, Elizabeth Brown Beard; a daughter, Marianne Brown Lord of Cincinnati; four sons, Robert J. Beard Jr. of Hagerstown, Spencer A. Brown of Durham, N.C., Bruce W. Brown of Houston and David M. Brown of Loomis, Calif.; two sisters, Norma E. Peightal and Correne R. Dalton, both of Rancho Murietta, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
There will be no viewing.
