Born Feb. 18, 1920, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late John C. Sr. and Ivanoniah Shane Crider.
He was a 1938 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was employed as an aviation engineer by Fairchild-Republic, retiring in 1983.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in Europe.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion; and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 842.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine Greenan Crider; a daughter, Catherine Skaggs of Hagerstown; five sons, John C. Crider III of Landisburg, Pa., Michael Crider of Orrstown, Pa., Gerald Crider of Chambersburg, David Crider of Solomons Island, Md., and Robert Crider of Chambersburg; a sister, Pearl Fry of Carlisle, Pa.; a brother, Frank Crider of Holidaysburg, Pa.; and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Donald Bohn will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Gerald E. McMath
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Gerald E. Born Dec. 17, 1917, in Pleasant Hall, Pa., he was the son of the late Cora J. Bender Black.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Issabell Zelda Rotz McMath, in 1960.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Iva M. "Johnny" Benchoff McMath, a daughter, Bonita Kramer of Carlisle, Pa.; three grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Roy G. Black.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg, Pa. The Rev. Kenneth W. Wenger will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg.
The viewing will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

QUINCY, Pa. - Katherine S. Born Feb. 1, 1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Blanche Spoonhour Selby.

She was a 1929 graduate of Waynesboro High School, and a 1931 graduate of Westchester State Teachers College.
She taught fourth grade at Quincy School. Prior to retiring in 1973, she taught in the primary department at Hooverville Elementary School.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro, the Young Women's Sunday School Class, and taught Bible school.
She was a member of National AARP, Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association, Franklin County Retired Employees Association, and the former North Chapter 739 AARP in Waynesboro.
She and her late husband were caretakers of EL-WA-HO Camp for Girl Scouts in Caledonia. She was president of the Girl Scout Council.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Kay Cline of Waynesboro; a sister, Caroline E. Gebel of Waynesboro; and a nephew.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Chaplain Carolyn Belenski will officiate.
There will be no viewing; however the family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother, Sophia Harnish Atherton; four sisters, Violet Kann, Teresa Atherton Chilcote and Ruby Atherton, all of Mercersburg, Pa., and Tina Niswander of St. Thomas; three brothers, Chester Atherton, Perry Atherton and Clair Atherton, all of Mercersburg; maternal grandmother, Irene Coons of Shippensburg, Pa.; three stepsisters, Phyllis Harnish and Deidra Laquerre, both of Mercersburg, and Vanessa Lopez of Greencastle; two stepbrothers, Edward Harnish of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Larry Harnish of Chambersburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Jo Atherton.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Alvin E. Goetz will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda I. Hummer Swanger; two stepsons, Michael A. Lynch of McConnellsburg, Pa., and William A. Lynch of Shippensburg; and eight stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. The Rev. Floyd Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, with military services by Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
