Born Nov. 29, 1920, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Harris S. and Olla May Stoops Kepner.
His wife, Flo E. Wagaman Kepner, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died March 17, 1991.
He was a 1938 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed by Frick Co. in Waynesboro; worked for Pennsylvania Railroad as a fireman; Waynesboro Shoe Factory and Thurmont Shoe Factory. Prior to retiring in 1983, he was manager of William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post 695 in Waynesboro for 10 years.
He was a member of William Max McLaughlin V.F.W.; Post 695, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15; Eagles Club Inc.; Order of the Owls Nest 1073; South Chapter 2977 AARP; all in Waynesboro; and the national AARP.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda E. Fleagle of Waynesboro; one sister, Rose Marie Bowers of Waynesboro; one brother, Harris M. Kepner of Waynesboro; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kepner Jr.; three sisters; and a brother.
Graveside services will beSaturday at 11 a.m. in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa. The Rev. Steven B. Amundson will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Carl E. Rexroth
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Rev. Carl E. Rexroth, 63, of 4459 Gary Way, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at his home.
Born March 20, 1936, in McConnellsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob and Margaret Souders Rexroth.
He worked as a masonry contractor for 16 years; was a teacher for the Franklin County Vocational Technical School; and he had been a minister since 1978.
He is survived by his companion, Shirley Shoop of Chambersburg; two daughters, Deborah Naugle of Frederick, Md., and Cheryl Ann Henicle of Waynesboro, Pa.; five sons, Donald Rexroth and Todd Rexroth of Newburg, Pa., Carl A. Rexroth and Christopher Rexroth, both of Shippensburg, Pa., and Troy Rexroth of Orrstown, Pa.; two sisters, Edith L. Strock and Darlene Rexroth, both of Chambersburg; two brothers, the Rev. Stanley Jacob Rexroth of Shippensburg and Dwight Rexroth of Greencastle, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Nancy Rexroth.
Service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. The Rev. Edward E. Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open today from 2 p.m.
Kathryn V. Shives
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Kathryn V. Shives, 81, formerly of 9283 Blue Spring Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Pinnacle Health System of Community General Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa.
Born Oct. 10, 1917, in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Eva May Werdebaugh Hornbaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Shives, in 1992.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on their farm. She had an egg delivery route in the Mercersburg area.
She was a member of Greencastle Church of God.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy M. Holmes of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mary K. Shives of Johnstown, Pa.; a son, Earl E. Shives of Hummelstown, Pa.; two sisters, Rachel Thomas of Mercersburg and Phyllis Hornbaker of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two brothers, Ralph Hornbaker and Garnet Hornbaker, both of Mercersburg; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret C. Sollenberger
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Margaret C. Sollenberger, 93, of Fayetteville, and formerly of Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born Jan. 16, 1906, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alburtin and Margaret E. Gardner Crist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. Sollenberger, in 1929.
She attended Greencastle schools and graduated from Thompson's Business School in Harrisburg, Pa.
She worked at the former Gem Garment Co. of Greencastle; for the State of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg; and for Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Salem United Brethren in Christ Church of Chambersburg, and the Adult Sunday school.
She was a member of National AARP; and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Leisenring of Shippensburg, Pa.; a grandson, Michael Leisenring of Estes Park, Colo.; nieces; nephews; and a great-great-nephew, Larry Hummer of Fayetteville, whom she raised.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St. in Greencastle. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nora M. Strickler

She was a homemaker; she worked for H.J. Heinz Co. for 30 years; and for Knouse Foods.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Martha Rae Gayman, Dorcas Faith Keith and Anna Mae Ebersole, all of Chambersburg; a sister, Kathryn Miller of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Elmer Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Stephanie L. Sr., and Myrna Barlup Shatzer of Waynesboro; paternal grandparents, Richard G. and Elizabeth Ann Matthews Helman of Waynesboro; maternal great-grandmother, Ethel Barlup of Waynesboro; maternal step-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Shatzer of Greencastle, Pa.; paternal great-grandmother, Winifred Talhelm Helman of Waynesboro; one sister, Heather Nicole Helman of Waynesboro; one brother, Aaron Keith Helman of Waynesboro; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Revs. Robert Fitz and Gregory A. Helman will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
