Hospital.
Born March 3, 1933, in Markes, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Miller Brindle.
She was employed for the past 19 years by Mercersburg Moose Lodge No. 1790.
She was a member of the auxiliaries of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post No. 6241 of Mercersburg; Joseph Stickell American Legion Post No. 15 of Waynesboro; and Women of the Moose Lodge No. 830 of Mercersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Roy "Pete" Ensminger, whom she married
June 6, 1953; a daughter, Wanda J. Deshong of Mercersburg; three sons, Rickey E. Ensminger of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert T. Ensminger of Mercersburg and Roger T. Ensminger of Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.; a sister, Donna Deshong of Waynesboro; four brothers, Ralph Brindle and John Brindle, both of York, Pa., Paul Brindle of Fayetteville, Pa., and Walter Brindle of Mercersburg; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ensminger; and a granddaughter.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Roy E. Brake Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William E. Happel
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - William Emory Happel, 91, formerly of 600 Park St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, at Quincy United Methodist Home.
Born March 24, 1908, in Cascade, he was the son of the late William M. and Nona Mae Kettoman Happel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Ruth Happel, in 1992. They were married
Dec. 24, 1929.
He was a 1926 graduate of Smithsburg High School. He graduated from Waynesboro Business School and attended Penn State University.
He worked at Landis Tool Co. as an electrical and mechanical engineer for 47 years. He then worked with Bill Schriver.
He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, and sang in the choir.
He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics; BPO Elks No. 731 in Waynesboro; Eagles Club; served on vestry as senior warden; was a member of Brotherhood of St. Andrews; LATCO Foremans Club; and was on the Waynesboro School Board.
He held patents in tool machine design.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Steiner of Fayetteville, Pa.; five brothers, Rodney E. Happel of Baltimore, Leland H. Happel of Hagerstown, Preston B. Happel of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Leslie Happel of San Jose, Calif., and Richard H. Happel of Cascade; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Eichelberger; and two brothers, George Happel and Fred Happel.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, South Church and West Second streets, Waynesboro. The Rev. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Germantown Cemetery, Cascade.
Visitation will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Gladys R. Oakman
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Gladys R. Born June 18, 1910, in Harrisonville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late G. Cleveland and Louella Decker Strait.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Oakman, in 1969.
She had operated a grocery store in Spencerville, Ohio.
She was a member of Siloam United Methodist Church in Harrisonville; and the W.S.C.S.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by a sister, Gayle DeShong of Harrisonville; and two brothers, Floyd Strait of Harrisonville and Stanley Strait of McConnellsburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Pastor Charles Gummo will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Harrisonville.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Geneva E. Coyle
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Geneva E. Lewis Coyle, 79, of 13408 Imperial Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born April 2, 1920, in Thurmont, Md., she was the daughter of the late Oscar H. and Ada Forrest Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Coyle, in 1971. They were married
June 22, 1946.
She attended schools in the Thurmont area.
She had been employed as a dietitian for Martin Marrietta Co. in Baltimore. She was a homemaker and did seasonal work for Knouse Food Co.
She is survived by three daughters, Shannon Lewis White of New Windsor, Md., Pamela Coyle of South Charleston, W.Va., and Daryl Bakner of Waynesboro; four sons, Andre Coyle of Ruckersville, Va., Kim Coyle of Waynesboro, Shawn Coyle of Verona, Italy, and Thane Coyle of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; a brother, Sherman Lewis of Taneytown, Md.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three children, Deborah Coyle, Barry Coyle and Henry Lewis; four sisters, Grace Lewis, Lena Lewis Becraft, Annabelle Hoffman and Helen Draper; and four brothers, Paul Lewis, Edwin Lewis, Leo Lewis and Tunis Lewis.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Elder Lester Allen White will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born March 31, 1912, in Bedminster, N.J., he was the son of the late William R. and Mary D'Ephenier Moore.
He was a 1930 graduate of Bedminster High School.
He was employed as a drill set operator at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown, retiring in 1978 after 29 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Greencastle.
He was a member and finance officer of Frank L. Carbaugh Post 373 American Legion, Greencastle; member and past commander of Hopewell Valley Post 339 American Legion in Hopewell, N.J.; and member of Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Greencastle; and National AARP.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Hurley of Morristown, N.J., and Frances Lusardi of Somerville; nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Margaret E. Rotz of Fort Loudon, Pa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Greencastle, with the Rev. Joseph L. Stahura as celebrant. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard, Chambersburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Harry D. Zeigler Post 6319 Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct veterans services at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Ave., Greencastle, PA 17225.
