Born Feb. 10, 1930, in Clay Hill, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Myrtle Vandrau Brechbiel.

She was a homemaker and did seasonal work for Five Forks Fruit in Clay Hill.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Irvin Flory, whom she married Nov. 8, 1946; one daughter, Betty M. Garland of St. Thomas, Pa.; two sons, Robert E. Flory and Tom C. Flory, both of Marion; one sister, Gladys S. Laird of Millcreek, Pa.; three brothers, Roy Brechbiel, Ralph Brechbiel and Ronald Brechbiel, all of Mapleton Depot, Pa.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Corey A. Berkey will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jane R. Summers

QUINCY, Pa. - Jane R. Summers, 87, of Quincy United Methodist Home, formerly of 249 Martin Ave., Chambersburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro, Pa.

Born Oct. 25, 1911, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Este Ellen Stahl Pheil.

Her husband, Jacob W. Summers, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Jan. 22, 1992.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Chambersburg.

She was a member of the former Ladies of the Golden Eagle in Chambersburg.

She is survived by one son, William J. Summers of Chambersburg; one sister, Josephine Bakner of Marion, Pa.; two half brothers, Harold Hile and Theodore Hile; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Elmer T. Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth L. Fahrney

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth L. Born July 18, 1924, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Kathryn Gelsinger Statler.

She was an assistant therapeutic dietitian at Chambersburg Hospital for 33 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church, Greencastle.

She also was a member of Women's Missionary Fellowship.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jane Fahrney of Chambersburg; one son, Ralph Fahrney Jr. of Fayetteville, Pa.; one sister, Mary Ellen Stepler of Chambersburg; three brothers, Donald E. Statler of Williamson, Pa., George Robert Statler of Chambersburg, and Larry D. Statler of St. Thomas; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreatgrandson.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, Charles Fahrney; and two brothers, Paul L. and Thomas H. Statler.

Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Brethren Church, 3661 Williamson Road, Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Ralph L. Frey Jr. and the Rev. Richard E. Mose will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa.

Visitation will be held at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Chambersburg Hospital, 112 N. 7th St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Ellis W. Martin

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ellis W. Martin, 90, formerly of 8000 Fort McCord Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1999, at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, where he had lived for the past five weeks.

Born July 8, 1909, in Fort McCord, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Martha Pugh Martin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna C. Shatzer Martin, in 1982.

He was the owner and operator of Ellis W. Martin Orchard in Fort McCord. He had raised fruit most of his life, having made his original planting at Fort McCord Orchard in 1939. During the orchard's off season he had done excavating work.

He was a member of Edenville United Methodist Church, St. Thomas, Pa.

He was active in the Republican Party in Franklin County, Pa., serving as a Republican Committeeman.

He is survived by two daughters, Lorraine E. Spangler and Eloise M. Martin, both of Chambersburg; a son, Gerald E. Martin of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice M. Horn; five sisters; five brothers; and two grandchildren.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas.

Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday one hour prior to the services, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Edenville United Methodist Church, 2504 Apple Way Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201; or Mount Olivet United Brethren Church, 8205 Fort McCord Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Irene I. Weaver

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Irene I. Switzer Weaver, 90, a resident of Huntingdon Manor, 777 Bryant Ave., and formerly of 335 Julian St., Williamstown, Pa., and Three Springs, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Aug. 13, 1999, at Huntingdon Manor.

Born Jan. 24, 1909, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Nellie Thompson Switzer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Weaver, in 1971. They were married Jan. 30, 1926.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Baddorf of Three Springs; a sister, Betty Jane Baer of Three Springs; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garnet Switzer and Charles Switzer.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Norman F. Shelly

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Norman F. Shelly, 53, of 2388 Buchanan Trail West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1999, at his home.

Born March 12, 1946, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Fred A. and Naomi Secrist Shelly.

He attended Greencastle-Antrim Schools.

He worked as an automotive mechanic at local garages.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by aunts; uncles and cousins.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery near Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.
