Born Jan. 9, 1934, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Jesse R. and Effie E. Vaughn Heckman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Greenawalt Heckman, in 1988.
He retired in 1998 from Cumberland Valley Landfill, Shippensburg. He earlier had worked for R. A. Bender Refuse Service, Pleasant Hall, Pa.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara K. Seville of Everett, Pa.; four sons, Rickey R. Heckman of Chambersburg, Randy L. Heckman, Charles L. Heckman Jr., and David L. Heckman Sr., all of Shippensburg; three brothers, Gerald D. Heckman of Gettysburg, Gary L. Heckman of Chambersburg and Melvin E. Heckman of Fayetteville, Pa.; a companion, Dorothy Clark; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Greene Township.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Fred R. Burke
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Fred R. Burke, 62, of Dauphin County Nursing Home, and formerly of 6th St., Harrisburg and McConnellsburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 25, 1936, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of the late Leslie C. Burke and Jane E. Thomas.
He had been employed at Town House Apartment Complex as a maintenance worker; and had worked at Frick Co., Waynesboro, Pa.
He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Cito.
He is survived by one sister, Nancy Burke of McConnellsburg; one brother, Ronald A. Burke of Philadelphia; one niece, Patricia Pickeons of Chattanooga, Tenn., and one nephew, Keri Burke of Flint, Mich.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary M. Burke, Gloria Jean Burke and an infant sister; and one brother, Lester Burke.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m. The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 2 p.m.
Noah C. Vannoy
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Noah Christian Vannoy, son of Dan Lee and Christina Marie Vannoy of 7443 Brown's Mill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died at birth Sunday, July 18, 1999, in Chambersburg Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Caleb L. Vannoy and Darren L. Vannoy; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Linda Ganoe of Greencastle, Pa., and paternal grandparents, Lester and Bea Vannoy of Zullinger, Pa.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly of God Church, 1400 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg.
Private graveside services will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, Pa.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Ruth A. Toms

She was a 1959 graduate of Chambersburg High School

She was a member of Marion United Methodist Church, Marion, Pa.
She is survived by three sons, Steve C. Toms, Mike J. Toms and Brad D. Toms, all of Chambersburg; one brother, Larry G. Rowles of Pleasant Hall, Pa. and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Springs Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. John A. Ile and the Rev. Guy W. Camp, III will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mary E. Myers

Born Jan. 9, 1925, on Wharf Road, Washington Township, Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Merle D., Sr. and Lillian Ressler Addlesberger.
She attended Zullinger School.
She was employed early in her life as a seamstress at Stanley Company, Chambersburg and then at Waynesboro Knitting Mill as an inspector. Later she operated the Coffee Shop at Grant's of Waynesboro. Prior to retiring in 1988, she was employed at Kmart, Waynesboro, first in the coffee shop and then as a cashier.
She was a member of Refuge Tabernacle, Zullinger.
She was a member of the former North Chapter 739 A.A.R.P., Waynesboro and National A.A.R.P.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Roy L. Myers, whom she married
in 1948; one son, Francis L. Myers of Waynesboro; three sisters, Betty Negley and Victoria J. Eshelman, both of Chambersburg and Armatha H. Blosk of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Leonard D. Addlesberger and Carl L. Addlesberger, both of Greencastle, Pa., and William C. Addlesberger and Joseph D. Addlesberger, both of Waynesboro and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pastor Rosalie H. Wharton and Gladys Fahnestock and one brother, Merle Addlesberger.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Victor E. Miller and the Rev. Norman LePage will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Rev. Laban G. Hawbaker

Born Nov. 5, 1921, in Lurgan Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob and Susan Sechrist Hawbaker.
He was a 1959 graduate of Huntington College, Huntington, Ind., and ordained by the Pennsylvania Conference Church of the United Brethren on Christ in August 1959.
He was a minister in Ohio, Virginia and Pennsylvania, retiring in 1987. He served 6 years as Chaplain of Piney Mountain Home following his retirement.
He was a member of Prince St. United Brethren Church, Shippensburg, Pa., and a member of Men's Bible Class and Men's Brotherhood of the church.
He was a member of Piney Mountain Home Auxiliary. He served for 8 years as a representative for Pennsylvania Council on Alcohol Problems (PCAP), speaking in churches.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Staver Hawbaker, whom he married
in 1941; three daughters, Margaret A. Klinger of York, Pa., Berniece L. Bartle of Waynesboro, Pa. and Sharon L. Lehner of Chambersburg; one son, Ray F. Hawbaker, Sr., of St. Thomas, Pa.; one sister, Bertha Bricker of Chambersburg; one brother, Paul G. Hawbaker of Maugansville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne L. Hawbaker, two sister and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Prince St. United Brethren Church, 20 N. Prince St., Shippensburg. The Rev. Donald L. Bender and the Rev. John Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Prince St. United Brethren Church.
