CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charles E. "Phil" McCulloh, 86, of Menno-Haven, formerly of 3794 Etter Road, in Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, July 8.
Born Jan. 24, 1913, in Little Cove, Warren Township, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles A. and Edith Brewer McCulloh.
He was a self-employed milk hauler and a retired farmer. He worked at Corning Glass Works in Greencastle, Pa., retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, in Marion, Pa.
He and his wife, Esther L. Burkholder McCulloh, were married
in January 1953.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen Barnhart of Chambersburg, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Warren C. Heintzelman and the Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, in Marion, Pa.
There will be no public viewing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Victoria A. Wallace
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Victoria A. Bowman Wallace, 64, of 24 Fairview Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, July 9, 1999, at her home. She was in failing health since May.
Born March 24, 1935, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Glenn J. and Anna Youckanavitch Bowman.
She was a 1953 graduate of Bartram High School, Philadelphia.
In her early life she was a bridal consultant with John Wanamaker's Department Store in Philadelphia, then was co-owner of Stardust Lounge in Waynesboro from 1974 to 1981.
She was a member of Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary, Wm. Max McLaughlin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 695 Ladies Auxiliary and national AARP.
She is survived by her husband of more than 47 years, James C. Wallace; one daughter, Lisa A. Reed of Waynesboro; one son, Michael S. Wallace of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 8:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Joseph C. Carolin will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Ronald C. Monn
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ronald C. Monn, 61, a guest of Manor Care Health Services, and formerly of Clay Hill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, July 8, 1999, in the emergency room at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1937, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence R. and Marguerite S. Parncutt Monn.
He was first employed as a janitor at Grove Worldwide, Shady Grove, Pa. He retired from Grove Worldwide in November 1998 with more than 30 years of service. He also worked for Wayne Junk Co. for several years.
He was a social member of VFW Post No. 695, Waynesboro; a social member of American Legion Post No. 273, Greencastle, Pa.; and a member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Mercersburg, Pa.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce L. Monn of Chambersburg and Jean Baker of South Mountain, Pa.; a brother, Charles G. Monn of Chambersburg; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Donna F. Runshaw of Chambersburg.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Pastor David F. Rasmussen and Tommy Noll will officiate. Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Antrim Township, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ethel M. Stevens
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ethel M. Stevens, 86, of Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at her home.
Born May 23, 1913, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Simon E. and Bertha J. Mellott Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin B. Stevens, in 1996. They were married
June 15, 1935.
She worked for Knouse Foods in Chambersburg and elsewhere in the area.
She was a member of Sideling Hill Christian Church in Needmore.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Corso of Chambersburg; a son, Roger A. Stevens of Camp Hill, Pa.; a sister, Velma Pettingill of Orange City, Fla.; two brothers, Ira Daniels of Needmore and L. D. Daniels of Chambersburg; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. William C. Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday at noon.
Vivian S. L. Heyl
CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. - Vivian Smock Levine Heyl, 84, of Conneautville, and formerly of Hagerstown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home.
Born May 10, 1915, in Albion, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Velma Robertson Smock.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Levine; and by her second husband, Norman Heyl.
She and her husband owned and operated Rogers Jewelry of Hagerstown.
She is survived by four sisters, Winifred Koch of Allendale, Fla., Marjorie Rohloff of Hollywood, Fla., and Helen Caldwell and Maxine Peckham, both of Albion; and a brother, Howard Smock of Albion.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Lopez and Norma Tobin; and a brother, Robert Smock.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by White Cool Funeral Home, Conneautville.
Cora B. Fahnestock
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Cora B. She was a former member of St. John United Church of Christ, Chambersburg, Pa.
She is survived by a daughter, Patsy A. Barnhart of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald E. Dull will officiate.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
