CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Gladys Glazer Duffield, 99, of 1425 Philadelphia Ave. and formerly of Welsh Run, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg.
Born Sept. 10, 1899, near Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Georgeanna Morton Glazer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Angle Duffield, in 1967.
She was a graduate of the former Mercersburg High School and the former Shippensburg Normal State Teachers College, now Shippensburg University.
She taught school at Mount Pleasant and Shimpstown in Montgomery Township, Pa., at Pinefield, Calif. and at South Antrim Elementary Schools in Antrim Township, Pa.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg, and attended the Presbyterian Church of Greencastle, Pa., where her children were members.
She is survived by a daughter, Joanne D. O'Brien of Huntsville, Ala.; two sons, Ned G. Duffield of Riverside, Calif. and Cedric A. Duffield of Welsh Run, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Robert M. Duffield; a sister; and a brother.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Greencastle. The Rev. Michael K. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, she requested memorial donations be made to Camp Joy-El, 3741 Joy-El Drive, Greencastle, PA 17225.

Earl R. Meyers
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Earl R. Meyers, 91, of Gabler Road and formerly of Edenville Road, where he lived for 35 years, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, June 25, 1999, at his home.
Born July 22, 1907, in Welsh Run, Pa., he was the son of the late Aaron H. and Fannie Catherine Rotz Meyers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. Gayman Meyers, in 1979.
He was a farmer for most of his life. For 15 years he worked for Carl Flohr Construction. He also rapaired furniture.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and furniture rapair.
He was a member of Old Order River Brethren.
He is survived by four daughters, Joyce M. Hawbaker, Lois A. Denlinger and Alma R. Wenger, all of Chambersburg and Julia Meyers of St. Thomas, Pa.; two sons, Fred L. Meyers of Chambersburg and Dean R. Meyers of Chambersburg; a sister, Mae Mummert of Chambersburg; a brother, Marvin C. Meyers of Greencastle, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Wentling; a brother, Myron A. Meyers; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Strasburg Mennonite Church. The Rev. Eldon Heckman and the Rev. Joseph Conley will officiate. Burial will be in Breckbill Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas. For the convenience of friends, the door of the funeral home will be open Monday from 2 to 9 p.m.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Emory I. Williams
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Emory I. Williams, 63, of Mickey Inn Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at his home.
He was born March 14, 1936, in Cumberland County, Pa.
He retired from James River in the spring of 1999 after 37 years.
He is survived by three sons, Rodney Williams of Thomasville, Pa., and Steve Williams and Greg Williams, both of Chambersburg; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. Chaplain Ron Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
James M. Miller
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - James M. Miller, 85, of Philadelphia Avenue, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 12, 1913, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late James G. and Maude Moore Miller.
He was a 1931 graduate of Mercersburg Academy; and a 1935 graduate of Princeton University, Princeton, N.J.
He was a management analyst for Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He retired in 1983. He previously had been employed by Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown, and wrote a sports column for the company's newsletter. He also had written a sports column for the Proprietor newspaper in Chambersburg.
He was a Presbyterian.
He was a member of BPO Elks No. 600 and Loyal Order of Moose No. 842, both of Chambersburg; and Rocky Spring Golf Club at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Noelle King Miller, whom he married
July 30, 1951; three daughters, Marjorie M. Moran of Colorado Springs, Colo., Elissa M. Derrickson of Parkton, Md., and Elaine M. Miller of Shippensburg, Pa.; a son, Michael F. Miller of Woodland Park, Colo.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Michael K. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Debra L. Safrit

She was a graduate of East Rowan High School in Rockwell, N.C. She attended Piedmont Bible College of Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was last employed at the former Sun-Rise Mini-Mart in Mercersburg.
She was a member of Grace Bible Church of Greencastle, Pa., and a member of the Social Committee.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Charles R. Safrit, whom she married
Nov. 18, 1971; a daughter, Kristin R. Safrit of Mercersburg; a son, Adam R. Safrit of Mercersburg; two sisters, Cathy Davis of Glen Allen, Va., and Lori Griffin of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and a brother, Duane Lemly of Raleigh, N.C.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Revs. J. Herman Fisler and James L. Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Franklin Unit, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
