Born Dec. 4, 1925, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathleen Brady Dorr. She was the stepdaughter of Anna Dorr of Vermont.
She was employed by Paramount Pictures' Scheduling Department from the late 1940s until 1953.
She was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Waynesboro.
In addition to her stepmother, she is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Wood, whom she married
Jan. 17, 1953; one daughter, Maryann Bindert of Forked River, N.J.; two sons, William J. Wood of Randolph, N.J., and Joseph Wood III of Cambridge, Mass.; one sister, Ann Nolan of Vermont; one brother, Paul Dorr of Connecticut; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. Thomas J. Hemler as celebrant. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, today from 7 to 9 p.m., with rosary recitation at 8 p.m.
Fern M. Myers
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Fern M. Myers, 62, of 12303 Williamsport Pike, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 12, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Nellie F. Renner Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter K. Myers, on March 31, 1999. They were married
April 23, 1955.
She was a 1955 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
She had been employed in the meat department of Rocky Ridge Farm Market in State Line, Pa.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela J. Martin of Greencastle and Penny L. Barr of Hagerstown; one sister, Bryweag P. Harne of Hagerstown; one brother, James Bryan of Waynesboro, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. The Revs. David Buchenroth and Dennis Ritchey will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.

William A. Stoops
MONT ALTO, Pa. - William A. "Bill" Stoops, 44, of 212 Jones Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at his mother's home.
Born May 25, 1955, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Betty J. Small Stoops of Mont Alto and the late Robert D. Stoops.
He attended Waynesboro Area Senior High School.
He was employed as a mechanic with North and South Trucking Co. in Chambersburg, Pa.; and in the maintenance department at Gold Bond Ice Cream Co. in Hagerstown. He was last employed by BRI-MAR Manufacturing in Chambersburg as a machine operator.
He was a member of Waynesboro Bible Church.
He was a member of Pennsylvania Game Commission.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Shannon L. Stoops of Waynesboro; two sons, Robert C. Stoops and Brian A. Stoops, both of Mont Alto; two brothers, Benjamin S. Stoops of Shady Grove, Pa., and Jeffrey L. Stoops of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren; one nephew; and aunts and uncles.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Revs. David G. Rawley, Robert Fitz and Charles Barney Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.
There will be no public viewing.

Karen L. Chesnut
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Karen Lavette Chesnut, 46, of Fulton County Extended Care Facility, and formerly of Warfordsburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at the facility.
Born July 19, 1952, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of V. Ruth Covalt Chesnut of Warfordsburg and the late D. Raymond Chesnut.
She was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School and The Rehabilitation Institute of Johnstown, Pa.
She was employed by Bedford-Fulton Agency on Aging at the Needmore (Pa.) Meal Site for six years.
She was a member of Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church, and was active in the choir and Sunday school.
She was an adopted sister of Preceptor Gamma Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Sunday School of Buck Valley Christian Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Sylvia C. Shives of Hagerstown and Mary Ann Garland of Needmore; two brothers, David R. Chesnut of Pataskala, Ohio, and Jeffrey M. Chesnut of Warfordsburg; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The Rev. John Barlow will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., in Hancock, and on Wednesday at the church at 10 a.m. The funeral home will be open from 3 p.m. today.

Joseph E. Shively
QUINCY, Pa. - Joseph E. "Joe" Shively, 87, of Quincy Village Cottage and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at Caledonia Manor Nursing Home, Fayetteville, where he was a guest for the past week and a half.
Born Oct. 19, 1911, near Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late H. Wallace and Olive J. Duffield Shively Sr.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna C. Curfman Shively, in 1969. They were married
in 1938. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Laura Zigner Mort Shively, in 1991. They were married
in 1971.
He was a 1929 graduate of Chambersburg High School. He received his bachelor of science degree in education from Shippensburg University in 1933; and later received his master's degree from Western Maryland College.
He taught for the Waynesboro School District for 43 years; and the last 35 years he taught at Waynesboro Senior High School. He served as the head of the science department for many years. He served as athletic advisor at the high school for a number of years and also was the faculty advisor for the year book staff and a class advisor.
He served as a part-time life insurance agent for Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company for more than 55 years.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, where he served on the church council for a number of years, as chairman of the church legal committee and was a member of the church ushers club.
He served on the board of directors of the Teacher's Credit Union for more than 30 years. He was an organizer and coordinator of AARP Medicare Supplemental Aid Program at the Senior Citizens Center in Waynesboro. In 1986, he received the National Outstanding Community Service Award from both AARP and the National Retired Teachers Association.
He was a member of National AARP; former North Chapter No. 739 AARP of Waynesboro; served as chairman of the Legal and Health Care Committee, Waynesboro Historical Society; was a member of the National Educational Association; Pennsylvania Education Association; Pennsylvania Association of Retired Employees; National Science Teachers Association; and the Franklin County Retired School Employees.
He is survived by his third wife, Rebecca L. Lessard Price Shively, whom he married
Jan. 12, 1993; a daughter, Carolyn Guerrina of Cochranville, Pa.; a son, Curtis A. Shively of Bethesda, Md.; a stepdaughter, Kathy Helfrick of Waynesboro; a stepson, Donald Mort of Colorado; three sisters, Bernice "Betty" Cropper of Harrisburg, Pa., Jane Sponseller of Chambersburg and Harriett "Hattie" Dunkle of Hummelstown, Pa.; two brothers, James H. Shively Sr. of Chambersburg and H. Wallace "Pete" Shively Jr. of Williamsport; four grandchildren; a step-grandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Shively.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro. The Rev. C. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour before the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
