WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Charles F. Bishop, 89, a resident of Michaux Manor Living Center, South Mountain and formerly of 116 N. Born Sept. 28, 1909, in Fairfield, Pa., he was the son of the late Jerome Mark and Annie McCleaf Bishop.

He attended Quincy School.
He was retired in 1975 from Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, as a draftsmen in the engineering department.
He was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 586, Order of Owls Nest 1073 and Eagles Club Inc., all of Waynesboro. He served as both treasurer and president of Eagles Club, Inc.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily B. Vinson of Newtown, Pa., and Judith B. West of Reston, Va.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50. S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Michael V. Newman will officiate. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing.
The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, 912 South Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Ruth I. Hicks
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth Ilsley Hicks, 91, of Menno-Haven Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Menno-Haven.
Born May 12, 1907, in Jamaica, L.I., N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Shirley N.C. and Minnie Clarke Hicks.
She was a 1925 graduate of Jamaica High School and attended Packer Collegiate Institute and received her Ph.D. in classical archaeology from Johns Hopkins University.
She was employed as assistant curator of classical art at Brooklyn Museum, was an instructor to full professor of classics at Wilson College and was professor emeritus of classics at Wilson College until her death.
She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Shippensburg, Pa.
She belonged to the American Philological Association, Archaeological Institute of America, Classical Association of Atlantic States, and served as president and secretary of the So. Central Pennsylvania Society.
She was a member of Franklin County Branch of American Association of University Women, Kittochtinny Historical Society, Chambersburg, Afternoon Club, Cumberland Valley branch of Torch Club and A.A.R.P.
She received the Linback Teaching Award and the Eminent Educators Award.
She is survived by several cousins.
Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Menno-Haven Chapel, 2075 Scotland Ave. The Rev. Roy Turner, the Rev. William Murphey and the Rev. William H. Harter will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.

Edna O. Goetz
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Edna O. She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Marie Pine of Mercersburg and Mary Y. Straley of Greencastle, Pa; three sons, Richard O. Goetz and Lloyd E. Goetz, both of Greencastle and Alvin E. Goetz of Mercersburg; one sister, Genevieve Chamberlin of New Franklin, Pa., 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Linford Goetz, Jr.; one sister, Susan Barnhart and two brothers, Merle Mills and Ralph Mills.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

David C. Hardsock Sr.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He attended Fayetteville Church of God, Fayetteville, Pa.
He is survived by four sons, David C. Hardsock Jr. of Pond Bank, Pa., Stephen I. Hardsock of Finksburg, Md., Manuel E. Hardsock of Chambersburg and Brian K. Hardsock of Fayetteville; three sisters, Ruth Naomi Beaver of Hagerstown, Mary L. Pensinger of Mercersburg, Pa., and Delvia Kalichun of New Castle, Pa.; one brother, Henry M. Hardsock of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter; one infant son; one sister, Margie Crider; and four brothers, Samuel Edward Hardsock, Irvin Crawford Hardsock, Harry Hardsock and Clarence Hardsock.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville Church of God, 5276 Treher Road, Fayetteville. The Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa.
Lydia R. Hykes
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Lydia R. Egolf Hykes, 93, of 113 S. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob H. Hykes, in 1989.

She was a member of Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church near Waynesboro, Pa., where she was a member of Kingdom Builders Sunday School Class and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane M. Christophel of Chambersburg, Ivy M. Maynard of Williamson, Pa., and Linda G. Rotz of Greencastle; two sons, Leslie A. Hykes and Jacob O. Hykes, both of Greencastle; a sister, Ruth Hornbaker of Mercersburg, Pa.; three brothers, Ralph Egolf of Mercersburg, George Egolf of Hancock and John Egolf of South Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church, 14807 Hollowell Church Road, Waynesboro. The Rev. James Sollenberger will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery near Upton, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, and Monday one hour before the services at the church.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church Memorial Fund for Ministry Training, 14807 Hollowell Church Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
