Born July 14, 1943, in Spring Run, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank L. and Helen M. McLaughlin Miley.
He was a farmer and livestock hauler.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of American Legion McCartney Post No. 232, Dry Run, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Laman Miley, whom he married
Aug. 31, 1960; a daughter, Lisa S. Christman; a son, Russell S. Miley of Orrstown; three sisters, Doris Garland of Mercersburg, Pa., Elnora Miley of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Sharon Middaugh of Dover Foxcraft, Mass.; two brothers, Samuel Miley of Orrstown and Robert Miley of Chambersburg, Pa.; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Miley.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run. The Rev. Marlin A. "Butch" Neil will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Fannett Township, Pa.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour before the services at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Stephen R. Ross

Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born Feb. 20, 1996, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Michelle R. Ross of Chambersburg.
He attended Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a sister, Jessica M. Rosenberry at home; maternal grandparents, Earl and Janet Ross of St. Thomas, Pa.; maternal great-grandmother, Madeline Ross of Chambersburg; and maternal great-grandparents, Harry and Rosella Friese of Chambersburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Lee Ross Rosenberry, in 1993.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mildred M. Alleman
MONT ALTO, Pa. - Mildred M. Ruth Alleman, 74, of 3 Aspen Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, May 21, 1999, at Manor Care Health Services in Chambersburg, where she was a guest since April 1.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Newburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William M. and Susan Barner Ruth.
She was a 1941 graduate of Shippensburg High School, Shippensburg, Pa.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at Carlisle Army Barracks, Shippensburg Shirt Factory and Beistel Co. and Novelties in Shippensburg. After her marriage she was a homemaker and seamstress in her home.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Pa., where she was active on many committees and was past chairwoman of United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harry G. Alleman; two daughters, Roxann S. Alleman of Tucson, Ariz. and Gretchen Wills of Sykesville, Md.; two sons, Terry L Alleman of Ephrata, Pa., and William M. Alleman of York, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Ruth, John Ruth and Richard Ruth; and one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 6 W. Second St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro, and Monday at the church one hour prior to services.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
Vada V. Helfrick
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Vada V. Statler Helfrick, 85, a resident of Manor Care Health Services, formerly of 24 Sanibel Lane, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, May 21, 1999, in the nursing home.
Born July 19, 1913, in Antrim Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry Diehl and Annie Elizabeth Barnes Statler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Helfrick, in 1983.
She attended Bown's Mill School, Kauffman Station, Pa.
She was employed as a presser at Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 33 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church in Greencastle, Pa., and the Busy Bees Sunday school class.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy L. Brechbill of Chambersburg; one son, Donald L. Helfrick of Chambersburg; one sister, Margarene Shaffer of Chambersburg; one brother, Glen Statler; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, seven brothers and one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. The Rev. Richard E. Mose will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edward H. Wallace

Born July 31, 1907, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George M. and Lydia Hibner Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Rossman Wallace, in 1991.
He was employed at Evening Sun Newspaper, Hanover, Pa., for 47 years. He worked as a reporter, sports editor, city editor, managing editor and editor. He also was a former secretary and assistant treasurer of Evening Sun Co.
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover.
He was a member of the U.S. Harness Writers Association and served on its board of directors for 10 years.
He is survived by three brothers, Richard C. Wallace and David L. Wallace, both of Hanover, and William H. Wallace of Darien, Ill.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Norland Cemetery, near Chambersburg. Chaplain Vernon D. Isner will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
