GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Fred A. Shelly, 88, of 2388 Buchanan Trail West, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born Dec. 5, 1910, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Aaron B. and Mae Meckley Shelly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Secrist Shelly, in 1982.
He was a retired farmer having farmed near Greencastle for many years.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by a son, Norman F. Shelly of Greencastle; two sisters, Janet Eckstine and Margaret Evans, both of Greencastle; and three brothers, Ray Shelly of Hagerstown, Ralph Shelly of Chambersburg, Pa., and Charles O. Shelly of Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Shank; and three brothers, Carl Shelly, Robert Shelly and Glenn Shelly.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mildred S. Honodel
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mildred S. Sumrall Honodel, 79, of 13182 Old Mill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born March 19, 1920, in Hattiesburg, Miss., she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Quick Sumrall.
She graduated from State Charity Hospital School of Nursing in Jackson, Miss.
She served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II and was separated from the service in March 1946.
She was an active member of Rouzerville United Methodist Church.
In her early life, she was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star in Heidelberg, Germany; and organized a chapter of Jobs Daughters in Heidelberg in 1961.
She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She loved working around her home.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Francis A. Honodel; a daughter, Dixie D. Myers of Waynesboro; a son, Gary F. Honodel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Geraldine Thomas of Hattiesburg and Sadie Nickerson of Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Sunday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Rouzerville United Methodist Church, 11977 Old Route 16 in Rouzerville. The Rev. Jeffrey S. Swanger and the Rev. Carl L. Buterbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, near Rouzerville at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rouzerville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3, Rouzerville, PA 17250; or to a charity of choice.
Mable E. Hockenberry
SPRING RUN, Pa. -Mable E. Hockenberry, 78, of 15603 Mountain Green Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her home.
Born July 23, 1920, in Spring Run, she was the daughter of the late Simon B. and Elizabeth Parks Smith.
She had been employed at the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg, Pa.; and later at the former Martin's Clothing Factory in Shippensburg, Pa. She then worked for a number of years as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in the Path Valley area. She also had cared for several people in Path Valley for about 10 years.
She was a member of Mountain Green United Methodist Church, Spring Run.
She is survived by her husband, Preston L. Hockenberry, whom she married
Dec. 24, 1980; a daughter, Ruth W. Semple of Willow Hill, Pa.; two sons, R.W. Wilson of Weirton, W.Va., and Thomas L. Wilson of Shippensburg; a brother, Rev. Milo W. Smith of Georgetown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; seven brothers; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mountain Green United Methodist Church, Mountain Green Road, Willow Hill, Pa. The Rev. Karl R. Herman and the Rev. Milo W. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Fannett Township, Pa.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run, Pa.; and Saturday one hour before the services at the church.
Louise V. Hair
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Louise Virginia Nitterhouse Hair, 87, formerly of 194 Cameo Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Menno Haven.
Born Feb. 26, 1912, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wiliam L. and Bertha Karper Nitterhouse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Hair, in 1993.
She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fayetteville.
She was a life member of Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary and a hospital volunteer for more than 50 years. She was a member of Charles Nitterhouse Post No. 1599 VFW Auxiliary; BPOE Auxiliary, Chambersburg; Women's Club; AARP No. 2286; IVARFE No. 1063; and NARFE.
She is survived by two sons, Benjamin E. Hair of San Angelo, Texas, and Michael C. Hair of Chambersburg; two brothers, T.K. Nitterhouse of Penn National Estates and Kenneth Nitterhouse of Chambersburg; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Nitterhouse; and a brother, William Harold "Jimmy" Nitterhouse.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fayetteville. The Rev. David L. Hefner will officiate. A reception will follow at St. Paul's Fellowship Hall.
Burial will be private.

Dante P. Keast
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dante Paul Keast, infant son of Michael and Robin Minor Keast of 354 W. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Megan Keast and Sara Keast, both of Waynesboro; maternal grandparents, Carol Minor of Waynesboro and Lewis Minor; paternal grandparents, Michael and Terry Keast of Fayetteville, Pa.; and paternal great-grandparents, Rita and Andy Consiglio of Orrtanna, Pa., and Wyonia and Dick Smith of Altoona, Pa.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Waynesboro.
Visitation will be private.
Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home Inc., Waynesboro.

She was a 1931 graduate of Lemaster High School; and a 1934 graduate of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse who worked more than 30 years for the Maryland State Correctional Institution in Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Upton, Pa.
She was a life member of Mercersburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary; St. Thomas American Legion Post No. 612 Auxiliary; Women of the Moose in Mercersburg; and Maryland Classified Retirees.
She is survived by three sisters, Arlene V. Swope of Hagerstown, Verda F. Rhodes of Upton, Pa., and Joyce A. Malone of Carlton Heights, Pa.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mae Fox, Katherine Happ, Ethel Brubaker and Jane Harrison; and a brother, Paul Foreman.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc., 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa. The Rev. Douglas Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home; and Monday one hour before the services at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.
