CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Carl Cato Jr., 71, of 60 Topaz Drive, and formerly of Texas, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 29, 1927, in Garrett, Texas, he was the son of the late Alfred C. and Mary M. Huffstetler Cato Sr.
He was a graduate of Ennis High School, Ennis, Texas.
He retired in 1985 as a logistics manager with the Department of Defense at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass. Previously, he served 21 years with the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1967 as a senior master sergeant. He served during World War II, the Korean War and in Vietnam.
He was a life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; a member of Hume McNeal Byers AMVETS Post 224; and Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, all of Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Gramley Cato, whom he married
March 8, 1957; two daughters, Linda Phillips of Frederick, Md., and Nanci Niebauer of Poolesville, Md.; a son, James C. Cato of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Mabel Fraze of Ennis; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be today at 9 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Ray Kauffman will officiate.
Military graveside services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Stover Cemetery in Arronsburg, Pa.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell Dolsay
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Russell Dolsay, 81, of 338 Strickler Ave., and formerly of Bloomingdale, N.J., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, after being hit by a vehicle on Pa. 16.
Born Feb. 25, 1917, in Bloomingdale, he was the son of the late Thomas and Martha Stagg Dolsay.
He retired in February 1978 from E.I. Dupont in Pumpton Lake, N.J., where he worked as a cap presser.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Dolsay, whom he married
June 30, 1950; a daughter, Joann Buwalda of Waynesboro; a son, Robert Dolsay of East Hanover, N.J.; two sisters, Ethel Loser of Butler, N.J., and Ruth Anderson of Pequaneck, N.J.; and two grandsons.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, South Church and West Second streets, Waynesboro. The Rev. Walter Smith of First Assembly of God Church in Greencastle, Pa., will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Robert A. Scott II
BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Robert Acie Scott II, infant son of Robert A. and Loretta Scott of 15605 Jacobs Church Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.
He was born Jan. 4.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Kait Lynn Nicole Scott and Adriana Alexis Scott, both of Blue Ridge Summit; maternal grandmother and maternal stepgrandfather, Ronald and Karen Fincher of St. Roberts, Mo.; and paternal grandparents, Rondal and Betty Scott of Rives, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Varnor.
Graveside services will be Saturday at noon at Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery, Missouri. The Rev. Robert Fulton will officiate.
Visitation will be private.
Local arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Missouri arrangements are by Waynesville Memorial Home, Waynesville, Mo.
Dortha E. Winters

She was a graduate of Hancock High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Huffman of Hinton, with whom she resided, and Joyce I. Coy of Pink Mountain, British Columbia; a son, Otis L. Winters Jr. of Kalispell, Mont.; two sisters, Rosa Lee Mason of Hancock and Charlotte Hayden of Bunnell, Fla.; a brother, J. Austin McKee of Hancock; six grandsons; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth E. Houpt; and a brother, Roy E. McKee.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren. The Revs. Harry E. Strite and Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Stephen G. Bender

He was a 1979 graduate of San Marcos High School, San Marcos, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 through 1986.
A licensed electrician, he was a self-employed electrical contractor in California. He also was a computer consultant.
He was a member of Glen Furney Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro; and Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Stephenie T. Bender of Waynesboro; a sister, Michelle D. Bender of Waynesboro; a brother, James A. Bender of Waynesboro; a niece; a nephew; maternal grandmother, Anna Richards of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and paternal grandfather, David H. Bender of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Glen Furney Assembly of God Church, 10054 Old Forge Road, Waynesboro. The Rev. Neville H. West will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, Md., with military graveside services by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Honor Guard Post 1599, Chambersburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Arthur W. Garvin Sr.
YORK, Pa. - The Rev. Arthur W. Garvin Sr., 96, of 2618 E. Born Jan. 24, 1902, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late William Henry and Laura Ellen Moore Garvin.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mabel Rosalie Snyder Garvin, in 1989.
He was educated in Hagerstown schools and at Shenandoah College; Dayton, Virginia, Indiana Central College, Indianapolis, Ind.; and Wesley Theological Seminary, Westminster, Md.
He worked as a linotype operator at newspapers in Kansas City, Kan.; Rockford, Ill., and at The Baltimore Sun, retiring in 1967.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, and was assistant pastor from 1967 to 1979. During his ministry, he served churches in Indiana; Middletown, Md., and Pleasant Valley, Foxville, Md.; Taneytown Messiah Church, Harney, Md.; Barts Church, Littlestown, Pa.; and Rayville Church, Parkton, Md. He retired from United Methodist Church in 1967
After retiring, he served churches in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and Paw Paw, W.Va.
He was a member of Columbia Typographical Union 101-12, Washington, D.C.; Baltimore-Washington United Methodist Conference, Columbia, Md.; and Monocacy Lodge 203 AF & AM, Taneytown.
He was active in many community activities.
He is survived by two daughters, E. Maxine Fritz of Keymar, Md., and Roberta J. Beerhorst of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sons, the Rev. Roland E. Garvin of York, and Arthur W. Garvin Jr. of Manchester, Md.; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 18 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Da Ettia Garvin; and eight brothers, Ammon Stapleton Garvin, Harry Clarence Garvin, Charles Wesley Garvin, Roger Franklin Garvin, Joseph R. Garvin, James Paul Garvin, Edward R. Garvin and Leroy A. Garvin.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Church and Winter streets, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton and the Rev. Darryl C. Zoller will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown; and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
