CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Walter W. Born Nov. 19, 1912, in Horse Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert D. and Iva Mae Fleagle Keefer.
He was a plumber for N.E. Diffenderfer Plumbing and Heating Inc., Chambersburg, retiring in 1974. After retiring, he worked part time as a plumber for friends and neighbors. He previously had been employed for 27 years at the former Chambersburg Implement Co. as a plumber.
He was a member of Mount Olivet United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Upperman Keefer, whom he married
June 17, 1944; two daughters, Sara Mae Keefer at home and Linda R. Rife of Chambersburg; two sons, Rodney E. Keefer of Falls Church, Va., and Kenneth W. Keefer of Chambersburg; a sister, Bertha Keefer of Shippensburg, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Olivet United Brethren Church, 8205 Fort McCord Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stan McCammon will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg; and Monday at noon at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Mount Olivet United Brethren Church, 8205 Fort McCord Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
M. Charlene Smith

Born Dec. 25, 1942, in Neoshio, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Charles Russell Covert and the late Mildred Susan Ward Henderson.
She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
She was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Inglesmith, Pa.
She bred and raised Great Danes.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Calvin L. Smith; two daughters, Pamela Blade of Arbutus, Md., and Terresa Traczinka of Conowingo, Md.; two sons, Chief Warrant Officer Richard Vince Powell of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Valentine Phillips of Baltimore; two stepsons, Brian L. Smith of Keyser, W.Va., and Todd A. Smith of Abbottstown, Pa.; a sister, Paula Schwartz of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Joseph Minnich of Baltimore; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and three stepgrandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fairview Christian Church, Inglesmith. The Rev. Merle Horton and the Rev. Milton Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Inglesmith.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser; Friday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, Cumberland, Md.; and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.

Ethel M. Williams
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Ethel M. Born March 1, 1908, in Johnstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Effie Rager Shives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Williams, in 1984.
During World War II, she was employed at the Mercersburg Dress Factory.
She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church of Little Cove, Pa.
She is survived by a daughter, Arlene R. McBeth of Shippensburg, Pa.; a son, William E. Williams of Mercersburg; six sisters, Agnes Ward of Mercersburg, Jane Carty of Greencastle, Pa., Iva Seiders of McConnellsburg, Pa., Ruth Barnhart of Chambersburg, Pa., Betty Earnest of East Waterford, Pa., and Rachel Gray of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two brothers, Benjamin H. Shives of Upper Strasburg, Pa., and Robert D. Shives of Mercersburg; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; a great-grandson; two sisters; and a brother.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Henry K. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery of Little Cove.
The viewing will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
James I. Dunstan
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - James I. Dunstan, 84, of 240 N. Born Aug. 9, 1914, in Darby, Pa., he was the son of the late Irven and Elsie Jones Dunstan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Scoles Dunstan.
He was an office manager at South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., for 31 years, retiring in 1974.
He was of the Episcopal faith.
He is survived by cousins.
Services will be Friday at 8 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Fernwood, Pa.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday at 7 p.m.

Doris J. Buterbaugh

Born Oct. 17, 1936, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Rella C. Mohn Rowe, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and the late Donald R. Rowe.
She was a 1955 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She was employed as a telephone operator for United Telephone. She later drove a school bus for Stanley Barkdoll. Prior to retiring in 1996, she worked as a nurse's aide at South Mountain Restoration Center for 20 years.
She was a member of Otterbein United Brethren Church in Waynesboro.
She was a member and past president of Delta-Y-Gradale Sorority of Waynesboro, and National AARP. She bowled in the Elks Sunday League and the Wednesday Morning Ladies League at Long Meadow Bowl in Hagerstown. She volunteered at the American Cancer Society auction.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John T. Buterbaugh, whom she married
Feb. 21, 1959; three daughters, Dana M. Heckman, Holly A. Buterbaugh and Barbara S. Carbaugh, all of Waynesboro; five sisters, Phyllis E. Smith of Mont Alto, Pa., Alice C. Rowe and Mary L. Guyer, both of Waynesboro, Martha A. Thomas and Linda L. Haugh, both of Greenbelt, Md.; two brothers, Donald R. Rowe Jr. of Waynesboro and Larry J. Rowe of Hagerstown; one granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith M. Whetzel and Barbara S. Rowe.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Revs. Michael V. Newman and Allan Mummert will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater at Guam during World War II.
He was a member of William Max McLaughlin Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 695 and Joe Stickwell American Legion Post 15, both of Waynesboro; and AMVETS of Fairfield, Pa.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Alice Porter Barnes; one daughter, Patricia D. Wagaman of South Mountain; three sisters, Eva Wagaman and Della Kiepel, both of South Mountain, and Verna Sloat of Biglerville, Pa.; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Mae Barnes Baker; and one brother, Harold Barnes.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. David L. Keener will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery in South Mountain.
The family will receive friends Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
