CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - H. Walter Lohman, 89, of The Shook Home, 55 S. Second St., Chambersburg, and formerly of 3518 Waynecastle Road, Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg.
Born Feb. 21, 1910, in Tomstown, Quincy Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Horace Walter Sr. and Inez Hatherlee Lohman.
His first wife, Mildred Haugh Lohman, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1979.
He was a 1929 graduate of Quincy High School, Quincy, Pa. He graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College, Shippensburg, Pa., in 1933 with a BS degree in education. He earned his master's in education from Western Maryland College, Westminster, Md., in 1945 and in 1955 earned the Certificate of Advanced Studies in Education from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.
He was first employed at Zullinger Elementary School, Zullinger, Pa., as a teacher in 1933. He was then assigned to teach Social Studies at Washington Township High School. He then became high school principal, remaining in that position until 1973. He then resigned and took a position in the Washington County schools, where he taught and supervised for 20 years.
He was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ, Marion, Pa., where he was president of Senior Citizens Association for 10 years and served on the church consistory.
He was a member of Franklin County Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association, Retired Teachers Association of Washington County, Md., National A.A.R.P. and Maryland State Retirement and Pension systems.
He is survived by his second wife, Helen Miller Lohman, whom he married
in 1981; two brothers, Clarke P. Lohman of Waynesboro and Rev. Robert C. Lohman of Borreggo Springs, Calif., and a nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Susan L. Eby and one brother, Ordean H. Lohman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert Dean Morrison and the Rev. John A. Toms will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ellen M. Haulman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ellen M. Born June 7, 1914, in Fayetteville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Duncan and Carrie Belle Sampson McClure.

She was employed at Darimaid for 21 years, having been manager of the Dairy Bar.
She was a member of Chambersburg Church of the Brethren, where she was known as "Granny" at the church Nursery School since 1978.
She is survived by one daughter, Ginger Black of Chambersburg; three sons, Ronald E. Haulman of Chambersburg, Larry W. Haulman of Radford, Va., and Edgar R. Haulman of Hustontown, Pa.; one sister, Virginia Morehouse of Falmouth, Mass.; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Church of the Brethren, 260 S. Fourth St., Chambersburg. The Rev. Kenneth L. Gibble will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, and Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Janet D. Lautenslager

Born Dec. 7, 1931, in Stoufferstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ora Stouffer McClure.

She is survived by her husband, Harold T. Lautenslager, whom she married
in 1989; five daughters, Carol Deitzel, Sharon Foust, Deborah Porter, Cheryl Hughes, and Linda Jones, all of Chambersburg; two stepdaughters, Lorna Toms and Peggy Gadberry, both of Chambersburg; three stepsons, Terrance A. Lautenslager, Michael G. Lautenslager, and Thomas W. Lautenslager, all of Chambersburg; six brothers, John C. McClure of Greenvillage, Pa., Paul B. McClure of Richlands, N.C., Thomas McClure of Fayetteville, Pa., James L. McClure of Dalmatia, Pa., Daniel McClure and William A. McClure, both of Chambersburg; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by twin children, David and Donna Miley; one sister, and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Alice G. Eshelman

She and her husband operated their family farm for a number of years.
She is survived by her husband, Garnet K. Eshelman Sr., whom she married
in 1940; one daughter, Betty J. Niswander of Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, Dean S. Eshelman of Fort Loudon, Pa., Carl D. Eshelman and Garnet K. Eshelman Jr., both of St. Thomas; two sisters, Laura R. McKinney of Avondale, Pa., and B. Rebecca Sowers of Mercersburg, Pa.; one brother, Paul E. Shives of Hancock; nine grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Carbaugh, Frances Shives, and Hazel Barnhart, and two brothers, John W. Shives and James H. Shives Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Robert L. Mentzer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
Virginia C. Lehman
MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Virginia C. "Peggy" Crueger Lehman, 85, a guest of Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, and formerly of 11816 Country Club Road, Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, April 9, 1999, at the medical center.
Born March 15, 1914, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Herman C. and Gladys Clayton Crueger.
Her husband, Capt. John S. Lehman, whom she married

She graduated from high school in Baltimore and attended junior college.
She volunteered at hospitals throughout the world during her husband's tours with the Navy. While living in the Waynesboro area, she did volunteer work at the Blue Ridge Summit Library and served on the Franklin and Fulton Counties Family Planning Board of Directors.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa L. Culler of McConnellsburg; one son, John C. Lehman of Columbia, S.C.; one brother, James Crueger of Oxford, Pa., and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The Rev. Henry Johnston will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
