CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Marjorie B. Burket, 79, a resident of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, and formerly of 112 Oak Forest Drive, St. Thomas, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at ManorCare.
Born June 6, 1919, in Martinsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fleetwood and Luella Detwiler Brumbaugh.

She was a 1936 graduate of Martinsburg High School, Martinsburg. She then received a BS degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pa., in 1941.
She was a school teacher for 30 years. She taught in the Chambersburg Area School district for 25 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, St. Thomas.
She was a member of Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers Association and Pennsylvania State Education Association.
She is survived by one son, Max W. Burket of Alexandria, Va.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene B. Hoffman, with whom she had resided with prior to entering the nursing home; and by one son, Richard Burket.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Charles W. Kampmeyer will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Dorothy A. Stovall
SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Dorothy A. Born May 6, 1924, in East Stroudsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Oviett Blair.
She was employed most of her life as an announcer for public radio stations.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Williams of South Yarmouth, Mass.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro, Pa.
Clarice M. Victor

Born Jan. 12, 1915, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsa Jettles Mayer.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Joseph Garfield, in 1955. They were married
Aug. 1, 1937. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Benjamin Picker, in 1970. They were married
Sept. 4, 1956.
She was the first female news announcer in Philadelphia, working for WCAU Radio. After World War II, she became camp director of Camp Reeta during the reopening of Philadelphia Jewish Y Camps. Later, she became editor of the Jewish Y newspaper, The Review. She then served as public relations director of the Jewish Y's and Centers of Greater Philadelphia, retiring in 1973.
She is survived by her third husband, Robert Victor of State College, Pa., whom she married
Feb. 28, 1973; a daughter, Marilyn G. Horwood of Reston, Va.; a son, David L. Garfield of Cherry Hill, N.J.; a sister, Shirley Seib of Spruce Head, Maine; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Larry A. Kriner

Born March 11, 1942, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Kenneth W. Sr. and Jean Varner Kriner.
He was a welder with Ingersoll-Rand in Shippensburg, Pa.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Harmon Kriner; one daughter, Linda L. Conner of Chambersburg; three sons, Jeffrey L. Kriner, James W. Koontz and David A. Koontz, all of Chambersburg; two brothers, Ronald L. Kriner and Kenneth W. Kriner, both of Chambersburg; one grandson and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward E. Kriner.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Revs. Arthur Brown and George Pogue will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

James A. Nonemaker

He was a graduate of Saltillo High School in Saltillo, Pa.
He retired from T.B. Woods Sons Co. in Chambersburg in 1980.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Greenvillage Church of God in Chambersburg, and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Greenvillage, Pa.
He also was a member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, both in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Doris F. Mansbarger Nonemaker, whom he married
June 10, 1950; three daughters, Pam Mackey and Tern Hrimnak, both of Chambersburg, and Kathy Cox of Reinholds, Pa.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Nonemaker.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenvillage Church of God, 5164 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Ronald E. Dull will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
A viewing will be held at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and at 10 a.m. at the church.

He retired in 1982 from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He then worked at Chambersburg Country Club.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He attended King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Cumberland Valley Lodge 315 Free and Accepted Masons; Valley Forest 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Harrisburg Consistory; Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, and Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599.
He is survived by his wife, Janet L. Ruth Besore; a son, Jeffrey L. Besore of Shippensburg; two brothers, Arthur Besore and Norman Besore, both of Shippensburg; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at King Street United Brethren Church. The Rev. Patrick B. Jones and Leroy Rosenberry will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, with military services by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 31599.
Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.
