CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert L. Frey, 51, of 1587 Newcomer Road, Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born March 9, 1947, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Adin L. and Janet Martin Frey of Chambersburg.
He was a 1965 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg.
He was owner/operator of Frey's Farm Dairy, Chambersburg. He and his wife also owned and operated the Drying Shed, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Chambersburg Mennonite Church, where he taught Sunday School and had served on various church committees.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hilsher Frey, whom he married
in 1967; two sons, Kurtis L. Frey and Clifford L. Frey, both at home; three sisters, Linda Horst of Clear Spring, Fern Diller of Greencastle, Pa., and Miriam Hawbaker of Mercersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Eugene R. Frey of Lancaster, Pa., and Wilmer L. Frey of Colorado.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg. The Rev. Jerry A. Roth will officiate. Burial will be in Chambersburg Mennonite Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Chambersburg Mennonite Church.

Mary M. Hummer
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary Marie Helm Hummer, 77, formerly of 13045 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., and a guest of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 5, 1921, in Walnut Bottom near Shippensburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William A. and Lacy M. Thomas Helm.
She attended Jacksonville School, Shippensburg.
She was employed in her early life at Knouse Foods in Chambersburg as a packer, then at Breyers Ice Cream, Greencastle as a machine operator. Later she worked at Milton Rite Home in Kauffman Station as a cook and then at Greencastle Shoe Factory as a machine operator. She and her husband also delivered the Record Herald newspaper in Welsh Run and Antrim Township areas.
She was a member of Greencastle Church of God, and Sunshine Ladies of the church.
She was a member of Greencastle Senior Center, Greencastle A.A.R.P. and National A.A.R.P.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Lewis V. Hummer, Sr., whom she married
in 1939; seven daughters, Rhoda I. Swagert of Shippensburg, Johannah R. Hendrix, Ada K. Wolff, Barbara E. Barnes, Wilma J. Hart, and Wanda M. Myers, all of Greencastle and Naomi J. Mason of Chambersburg; three sons, Donald R. Hummer, Lewis V. Hummer, Jr., and Dennis W. Hummer, all of Greencastle; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one niece; and one nephew. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles L. Hummer; one brother Harold E. Helm; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Greencastle Church of God, 4480 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle. The Rev. Floyd E. Myers and the Rev. Rodger D. Berkey will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle.

Pauline H. Ensminger
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Pauline H. Born March 17, 1920, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Jesse Mellott Strait.

She has been employed at Montgomery Elementary School in the cafeteria and for Agronomy Inc., both of Mercersburg. She had last worked for the former McLauglin's Drug Store and Modnur Pharmacy, both of Mercersburg.
She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg, where she was a deaconess and former trustee.
She is survived by three daughters, Lindsay J. Keefer, Ellen Ensminger, and Debra J. Stepler, all of Mercersburg; one sister, Beulah Brant of Mercersburg; two brothers, Coy Strait of Amaranth, Pa., and Robert Strait of Warfordsburg; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger F. Ensminger.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of Mercersburg. The Rev. Michael K. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services in the church.

George A. Rodgers Sr.

Born Nov. 22, 1913, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Bruce E. and Haidle Rowe Rodgers. He was raised by his great-aunt and great-uncle, Mary and Benton Reichard.
He was a 1933 graduate of Greencastle High School.
He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, as a Special Weapons and Tool Maker, retiring in 1980. He previously had been employed at shops in the Waynesboro area.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of Rouzerville United Methodist Church, Rouzerville, Pa., and taught Sunday school.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge 586 Free and Accepted Masons of Waynesboro, Harrisburg Consistory, William Max McLaughlin Post 695 VFW of Waynesboro, National AARP and a former member of Rouzerville Lions Club.
He was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 44 of Rouzerville for 19 years and was PTA President in Rouzerville.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen S. Kendall Rodgers, whom he married
in 1943; one daughter, Georgia Darlene Roe of Princeton, Texas; two sons, George A. Rodgers Jr. and Randolph C. Rodgers, both of Waynesboro; one grandson; two nieces and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel L. Posey; and a brother, Frederick R. Rodgers.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jeffrey S. Swanger will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth V. Heckman
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Ruth V. She retired from Knouse Foods; and was formerly employed at the H.J. Heinz Co., Chambersburg.
She was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren in Christ Church near Greencastle, Pa.
She is survived by two sons, William D. Heckman and Robert H. Heckman, both of Mercersburg; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Richard E. Moss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
