Born Dec. 21, 1921, in Roadside, Washington Township, he was the son of the late Merle H. and Blanche Miner Sprenkle.
He was a 1941 graduate of Waynesboro High School and a 1942 graduate of Airplane Inspection School, Baltimore.
He was retired in 1974 from the U.S. government at Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, after 33 years as an inspector.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
He was past commander and member of VFW Post 695, Waynesboro; Acacia Lodge 586, Zembo Temple; Waynesboro Shrine Club, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, Harrisburg Consistory and National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi Yaukey Sprenkle, whom he married
in 1947; three daughters, Constance M. Turner of Falling Waters, W.Va., Dr. Barbara Jo Ann Seabrook of Fenwick Island, Del., and Vicki Ellen Wile of Thomasville, Pa; one son, Gregory Richard Sprenkle of Hagerstown; two sisters, Martha Hartman and Emma Feaster, both of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; a sister Evelyn Royer, and a brother, Merle Sprenkle Jr.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Home Care Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Elva E. Gabler
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Elva E. Born Sept. 2, 1905, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Bertha Jacoby Keller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet A. Gabler, in 1985.
She was employed at J. Schoeneman Co. and the Stanley Co., both in Chambersburg.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg and Win-One Philathea Sunday School Class.
She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Martha Custis Chapter and local AARP.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 225 Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or Menno Haven, Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Vernon Northcraft
ARTEMAS, Pa. - Vernon "Mike" Northcraft, 86, of Artemas, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 23, 1912, in Northcraft, he was the son of the late Vernon and Agnes Smith Northcraft.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bridget Isabelle Northcraft, on March 9, 1999.
He was a retired dairy farmer.
He was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
He is survived by one son, Edward V. Northcraft of Flintstone, Md.; one brother, Leo Northcraft of Walfordsburg, Pa.; one grandson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Delphine Clingerman, Zoe Fisher, and Opal Smith; and one brother, Theodore Northcraft.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Fairview Christian Church. The Rev. Milton Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Christian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, Md.
Broni Marnause
SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Broni Marnause, 81, of South Mountain Restoration Center, 10058 South Mountain Road, and formerly of Morrisville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born Dec. 24, 1917, in Ludza, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Helen Boolse Marnause.
She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at South Mountain Restoration Center Auditorium, 10058 South Mountain Road, South Mountain. The Rev. Joseph C. Carolin will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Church Cemetery, Waynesboro.
Friends will be received Thursday from 10:15 to 10:30 a.m. at the restoration center.
Arrangements are by Miller-Grove Funeral Home, Greencastle, Pa.
Catherine M. Bryan
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Catherine M. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Bryan of Elloree, S.C.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Private graveside services will be held in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Marlin L. Frey

Born Aug. 26, 1928, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Margaret Paxton Frey Lehman of Chambersburg and the late Abram Frey.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva Ruth Lehman Frey, in 1962.
He was a retired self-employed dairy farmer in Chambersburg for more than 40 years. He then was employed by Del Martin Inc. of Greencastle, Pa.
He was a member of Chambersburg Mennonite Church, and had been a trustee for many years and served in other capacities.
He served for 16 years on the board of directors of Menno Haven Inc. in Chambersburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his second wife, Martha N. Lehman Frey, whom he married
Feb. 16, 1963; two daughters, Karen J. Martin and Laura M. Lehman, both of Chambersburg; two sons, Gary L. Frey of State Line, Pa., and Jay M. Frey of Waynesboro, Pa.; a sister, Marie Eby of Chambersburg; a brother, D. Ralph Frey of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul F. Lehman; a half brother, Joseph Lehman; and a grandson.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, Chambersburg. The Revs. Jerry A. Roth, Preston M. Frey and Jere A. Horst will officiate. Burial will be in Chambersburg Mennonite Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg; and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Chambersburg Mennonite Church Building Fund, 1800 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
