Hubert S. Mummert

QUINCY, Pa. - Hubert Stickell Mummert, 89, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 317 Towne Drive, Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the home.

Born Aug. 5, 1909, in Welsh Run, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel and Jenette Stickell Mummert.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine M. Benchoff Mummert, in 1970. They were married in December 1929.

A carpenter, he built homes in the Greencastle area and helped build tunnels on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He owned a fruit market in Bino; and was a welder at Fairchild Aircraft for more than 30 years, retiring in 1972. He owned and operated Mummert's Antique Variety Shop in Greencastle from 1973 to 1996.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle, and was on the church council.

He was a member of Greencastle and Mercersburg Sportsmen Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred R. Stoner Mummert, whom he married in July 1972; a daughter, Anna Louise Hummer of Seiversville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Doris Lewis of Barrington, N.H.; two sons, Dennis W. Mummert of Hagerstown and David D. Mummert of Hedgesville, W.Va.; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Bradley in 1976; two sons, Donald H. Mummert in 1997 and Richard L. Mummert in 1998; a sister; and six brothers.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Pastor William W. DeHass will officiate. Burial will be in Montgomery Brethren in Christ Cemetery, Upton, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 145 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle, PA 17225.

Maryanne S. Fischer

ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Maryanne Snook Fischer, 55, of 2963 Keller Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 29, 1943, in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Wilhemina C. Richards Snook.

She was a graduate of East Brunswick High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Pauls German Reform Church in Milltown, N.J.

She was a candy striper at St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick, while in high school.

She is survived by her husband, Edmond C. Fischer, whom she married May 5, 1963; two daughters, Allison L. Fischer of Hagerstown, and Jennifer Beam of Chambersburg, Pa.; one son, Edmond M. Fischer of McConnellsburg, Pa.; one sister, Catherine Levas of East Brunswick; and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Richards and James Snook.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa. The Rev. Roy Brake will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Lemasters, Pa.

Friends may call at the funeral home at 10 a.m. today.

Nannie H. Angle

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Nannie H. Angle, 90, of 2075 Scotland Ave., and formerly of 3446 Warm Spring Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 7, 1908, in Williamson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Bruce and Carrie Spielman Hill.

She was a 1926 graduate of Chambersburg High School, and a graduate of York Business School.

She was last employed by Corning Glass Works in Greencastle, Pa.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.

She was a member of National AARP.

She is survived by one daughter, Bonita G. Heckman of Chambersburg; two sons, Nicholas Richard Angle of Bainbridge, Ga., and Malcolm Bert Angle of Waynesboro; one sister, Eunice Gale Smith of Fayetteville, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Mercersburg. The Rev. John W. Morrison Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.

A viewing will be held at noon today at the funeral home.

Clyde J. Kuhns

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Clyde James Kuhns, 99, of Falling Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 68 E. Main St., Waynesboro, Pa., and Quincy United Methodist Home, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the center.

Born Sept. 3, 1899, in Mont Alto, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Geneva Verdier Kuhn.

His wife, Flo I. Kuhn, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1976.

He was manager of American Legion Post 15, retiring in 1964 after 25 years.

A veteran of World War I, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He was a member of American Legion Post 15 in Waynesboro; Gettysburg Moose 1526; F.O.E. Aerie 1758 in Waynesboro; and Veterans of World War I of U.S.A. Inc. of Chambersburg.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home, South Church and West Second streets, Waynesboro. The Rev. Carl Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Quincy Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Judy L. Spangler

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Judy Lorraine Spangler, 64, of 13879 Mar-Pen Ave., Waynesboro, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.

Born Feb. 5, 1934, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert I. and Treva V. Kraidler Brown.

She was a 1952 graduate of Eichelberger High School, Hanover.

She was self-employed as a proofreader for the last 10 years. Prior to that she was employed by Southwestern School District, Hanover, and at Doubleday Books, Hanover, as a perforator and proofreader.

She was a former member of Whirley Birds Square Dancing Club of Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Everett R. Spangler, whom she married in 1953; one daughter, Jody A. Boardman of Chambersburg; one son, Michael R. Spangler of Silvis, Ill.; two sisters, Genevieve Smith of Hanover and Tammy Devena of York, Pa.; two brothers, Robert L. Brown of Spring Grove, Pa., and James A. Brown of Littlestown, Pa.; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Cindy Brown.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Emmanual United Church of Christ, 124 Broadway St., Hanover. The Rev. Terry Wible and the Rev. Kenneth Heasley will officiate. Burial will be in Marburg Memorial Garden, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 225 East King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
