QUINCY, Pa. - Shirley B. Zook, 79, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 265 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born July 25, 1919, in LaPorte, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin R. and Esther Langman Cross.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, the Rev. J. Herbert Zook, in 1997.
She was a graduate of LaPorte High School.
She was a homemaker; and had worked in an office supply store and as an office worker in LaPorte.
She was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren, was a member of Berean Sunday School Class and had served as treasurer, sung in the church choir, taught Sunday school, was a member of Dorcas Sewing Circle, and helped her husband publish the church newsletter.
She is survived by two daughters, Sally Furukawa of Greencastle and Mary Esther Anderson of York, Pa.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Greencastle Church of the Brethren, Greencastle. The Rev. Robert Thacker will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Gloria J. Sharp
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Gloria J. Talhelm Sharp, 51, of Shippensburg Health Center, and formerly of 101 N. Prince St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born March 14, 1947, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Glorynne Shoop Sharp of Chambersburg and the late Alvin McClure.
She was a 1969 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.
She had worked as a dispatcher for H.C. Gabler in Chambersburg. She retired for health reasons.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
She was a member and past president of American Business Women's Association.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert Sharp, whom she married
July 25, 1990; two daughters, Jennifer Barbuzanes of Greencastle, Pa., and April Crowell of Seattle; and a brother, Fred McClure of York, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William E. Sharp.
Services will be Monday at 10 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Dianne B. Salter will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Loretta J. Artz
STATE LINE, Pa. - Loretta J. "Cookie" Artz, 82, of 85 East Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1916, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Mabel Noll Cook.
She was a graduate of Moose Heart School in Aurora, Ill.
She had worked at the former Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown; and then in the office of Superior Dairy in Hagerstown.
She served with the American Red Cross as a Gray Lady during World War II.
She was a member of State Line United Methodist Church, and a member of King's Children Sunday School Class.
She was a member of State Line Ruritan Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Artz; a daughter, Patricia A. Tresler of State Line; a son, Jeffrey Artz of Carson City, Nev.; a brother, George Donald Cook of District Heights, Md.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Milech and a brother, Leon Cook.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at State Line United Methodist Church, East Avenue, State Line. The Rev. Harold Hollister, the Rev. Guy Camp and the Rev. Wayne Heberlig will officiate. Burial will be in Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle; and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Charles M. Kline Sr.
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Charles M. Kline Sr., 72, of 6086 Lincoln Way East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1927, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late Archie M. and Geneva A. Martin Kline.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha M. Turner Kline, in 1992. They were married
April 5, 1951.
He attended Waynesboro schools.
He was employed by Vulcan Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.; and then worked for Glide Line, which became AMP, in Waynesboro as a machinist for 42 years, retiring in 1992.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II in the Pacific Theater, including at Pearl Harbor.
He was a member of Church of God in Emmitsburg, Md., where he held positions and taught Sunday school.
He was a member of AARP.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Kline Royer-Malvestuto of Philadelphia; three sons, Charles A. Turner of Greencastle, Pa., Martin J. Kline of Leitersburg, and Charles M. Kline Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Jane Jones of Kansas City, Mo., and Joyce Shearer of Waynesboro; a brother, Edwin Kline of Waynesboro; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Heikes; and two brothers, Donald Kline and Wayne Kline.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. William B. Parks will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery in Cascade, Md., with military services by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 of Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, Arlyn Wilkins, whom she married
May 25, 1956; a daughter, Teresa Ann Mellott of Hustontown; a sister, Delores Bollman of Missouri; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. The Rev. George Clippinger will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Breezewood, Pa.
The family will receive friends Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
