SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Ronald David Croft, 66, of 7696 Molly Pitcher Highway, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at The Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa.
Born July 13, 1932, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Hazel E. Croft of Fayetteville, Pa., and the late Herbert Croft.
He was employed by T.B. Woods in Chambersburg for 33 years, and was financial secretary of U.A.W. Local 695.
He served four years with the U.S. Navy and 12 years with the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was a member of Wood Carvers Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Virginia Croft; two daughters, Cathy Croft and Karen Hurley; three sons, Karl Croft, Timothy Croft and Calvin Croft; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Norland Cemetery. Friends are invited to the family home after the service.
Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Chester E. Wenger
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Chester E. Wenger, 61, of 1046 Apple Way, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born July 7, 1937, in Chambersburg, he was the son of H. Richard Wenger of St. Thomas, and Edith Forrester Wenger of Chambersburg.
He was a farmer; and owned and operated C&R Fruit and Produce in St. Thomas.
He was a member of Chambersburg Open Door Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jean Brookens Wenger, whom he married
March 1, 1974; three daughters, Candace Vaughn of Scotland, Pa., Bridget Hammond and Holly Wenger, both of Chambersburg; five sons, Wendell Wenger of Edenville, Pa., Michael Wenger of Chambersburg, Rodney Wenger of Fayetteville, Pa., Norman Wenger of Winter Park, Fla., and Chet Wenger of St. Thomas; one sister, Judith Appleby of Chambersburg; three half sisters, Carol A. Keefer of Shippensburg, Pa., Bonnie K. Wenger of State Line, Pa., and Linda S. Walls of St. Thomas; five half-brothers, C. Richard Wenger of Huntingdon, Pa., H. Dennis Wenger of Mercersburg, Pa., Robert N. Wenger of Greencastle, Pa., Fred R. Wenger of Hustontown, Pa., and R. Keith Wenger of Chambersburg; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas. The Rev. Jerry O. Timbrook will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open Thursday from 2 p.m.
Florence M. Johnston
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Florence M. Born Jan. 17, 1923, in St. Thomas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Curtis I. and Mary Armstrong Perry.
She was a former employee of the Stanley Co., Chambersburg.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, and Fidelis Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her husband, Edston J. Johnston; a daughter, Nancy J. Hauber of Boonsboro; and two grandchildren, Lauren A. Hauber and Aaron J. Hauber, both of Boonsboro.
She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, Pa. The Rev. Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
The viewing will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virginia M. Houpt
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Virginia Margaret Houpt, 85, of 44 N. Main St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 18, 1913, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Elizabeth Robertson Houpt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Houpt, in 1963.
She worked at Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown, during World War II. She was secretary to former Justice of the Peace, the late Tom McDowell, in Mercersburg. She later was assistant to the librarian and taught typing at Mercersburg Academy; and was a librarian at Fendrick Library, Mercersburg.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mercersburg.
She was a member and former president of Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517 Ladies Auxiliary; a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 812 of Franklin, W.Va.; and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Mercersburg.
She is survived by a son, Michael I. Houpt of Upper Tract, W.Va.; three stepgrandchildren, Brenda Rhodes, Maryanne Miller and Kathy Wimer; a stepgrandson, Nicholas Houpt Rhodes; and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, Mercersburg. The Rev. Milton W. Benny Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
There will be no viewing.

She graduated from Waynesboro High School.
She was employed as an elementary school teacher with the Waynesboro Area School District, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Waynesboro Country Club; and AARP.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lochstampfor Funeral Home. The Rev. Lynn Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Loretta S. Golden

She was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Trail.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mays Chapel Christian Church. The Rev. Roger Sipes and the Rev. Glen Jones will officiate. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church Saturday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The funeral home will be open today from 2 p.m.
