MONT ALTO, Pa. - Margaret E. Heffler Jacobson, 83, of 206 Constitution Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at her home.

Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Winburn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Maybelle Lucas Heffler.

She was valedictorian of the 1933 graduating class of Cooper Township High School. She studied nursing at Philipsburg Hospital.

She was first employed with Bell Aircraft Co. in Niagara Falls, N.Y., as a guard. She was a homemaker.

She was a bowler and won awards and trophies.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Quincy, Pa., and United Lutheran Society.

She was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew Jacobson, whom she married Feb. 24, 1934; a daughter, Bonnie S. Jacobson Kahl of Mont Alto; three sons, Andrew E. Jacobson of Dover, Pa., Donald T. Jacobson of Ransomville, N.Y., and Gerald A. Jacobson of Marlton, N.J.; three sisters, Ada Levine of Franklinville, N.Y., Katherine Nixon of Ransomville and Loretta Wells of Longwood, Fla.; a brother, Richard Heffler of Waterloo, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Raymond and Dora Annis; and four brothers, Lester Heffler, Robert Heffler, William Heffler and Albert K. Heffler.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Quincy. The Rev. Suzanne P. Perez will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Garden, Chambersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Memorial donations may be made to Building Fund of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8496 Anthony Highway, Quincy, PA 17247.

Leonard W. Lindsell

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Leonard W. Lindsell, 86, of 810-A Menno Village, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Menno Haven.

Born June 11, 1912, in New York City, he was the son of the late Leonard A. and Ella Briggs Harris Lindsell.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Winifred Lacquement Lindsell, in 1987. They were married Sept. 7, 1941.

He attended Wheaton College. He had a bachelor of science degree and a master's of business administration from New York University.

He was a personnel supervisor for Western Electric in New York for 33 years, retiring in 1976. An adjunct professor at New York University and Rutgers University, he taught business classes and personnel management.

He was a member of Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, and was on the Evangelism committee.

He was a member of Torch Club, Sons of the American Revolution and Telephone Pioneers of America.

He is survived by his second wife, Edith Cressler Lindsell, whom he married May 10, 1990; a daughter, Bonnie Rabold of Mercersburg, Pa.; a son, David B. Lindsell of Gaithersburg, Md.; a stepdaughter, Joan C. Karasick of Cos Cob, Conn.; a sister, Marjorie H. Lindsell of Whiting, N.J.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lindsell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring. The Rev. William H. Harter will officiate. Burial will be in Falling Spring Graveyard.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Falling Spring Family Life Center, 221 N. Main St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Daniel B. Rook

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Daniel Boward Rook, 81, of 7210 Slabtown Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.

Born Dec. 17, 1917, in Zullinger, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel and Rebecca Reed Rook.

He received his GED from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

He was employed as a production analyst at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for 33 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of Central Baptist Chapel in Mont Alto, Pa.

He was a member of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Waynesboro; Christian Seniors Alliance; Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association and South Mountain (Pa.) Golf Course.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Marea Mills Rook; a son, Michael B. Rook of Upper Strasburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Central Baptist Chapel, 6025 Anthony Highway, Mont Alto. The Rev. R.W. Skidmore will officiate. Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday at noon at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Baptist Chapel, 6025 Anthony Highway, Mont Alto, PA 17237; or Child Evangelism Fellowship, 45 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Philip F. McMullen

ALTOONA, Pa. - Philip F. McMullen, 78, of 1124 21st Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at his home.

Born Sept. 10, 1920, in Loretto, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter and Eva Sanders McMullen.

He was a 1939 graduate of Cresson High School.

He retired in 1983 after 45 years as a self-employed plaster contractor.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific.

He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Altoona.

He is survived by his wife Camille M. Wharton McMullen; three daughters, Lynann Adams of Hagerstown, Connie L. Navarro of Altoona and Denise Remillard of Harrisburg, Pa.; two brothers, Joseph McMullen of Loretto and Jody McMullen of Lilly, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul "Mike" McMullen, Leonard McMullen and John McMullen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Altoona. The Rev. Allen Zeth will be celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Altoona.

The family received friends Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, 1222 13th Ave., Altoona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 2201 Union Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.

Beulah A. Reath

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Beulah A. She was a seamstress for the Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for 33 years, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.

She was a life member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence A. Reath, whom she married Dec. 15, 1934; a daughter, E. Faye Cook of Fayetteville; a son, Ralph E. Reath of Fayetteville; a sister, Helen Dice of Menno Haven in Chambersburg; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
